    Evening all,

I got to the dentist. What remains of the tooth isn't enough to work with and is infected so needs to come out for Β£150 as a minimum. A bridge or denture would be a few pennies extra!

I'll speak to work on Monday to work out when might be best during the mayhem of the next few weeks to get the tooth root removed.

@Red maple, thank goodness your parcel has turned up. Better late than never and what a nice neighbour to bring it round for you. Lovely compliment about your hair too, always gives one a lift especially from a stranger.
Ante, are you all packed and ready? Are you coming on Monday? Bet the excitement is buildingπŸ˜‰πŸ™‚
Our son has popped in on his way to work( a 12 hour night shift😬) and he told us that 23 is poorly, sore throat and upset tummy, sounds a bit like tonsillitis that he's had before( just like his daddy). Hope he'll be ok soon.

Hazel, hope 23 will soon be better. I'll arrive in London at Tuesday early morning. I have flight from Zagreb at 7am (6am in UK). Airport is about 2 hours drive from my town, and I must be there at least 2 hours before flight, so I must start around 3am.Β  Β

I finally came home. It was unbelievable crowd in SM.Β

Glad you saw the dentist @Biglad. Nothing comes cheap these days unfortunately.
Sorry to hear that 23 is a bit under the weather Hazel. Fingers crossed he shakes it off soon. Signing out now to watch Children in Need. See you all tomorrow.

Biglad, you weren't there when I last posted. Oh ouch re tooth and price😬 You must be in quite a bit of pain though so best to get it out as soon as possible. You don't want that infection travelling any further in your gums/mouth. Are you are antibiotics to clear the infection prior to extraction?
Ante, you'll be up bright and early for your flight and no doubt you'll be shattered when you reach the UK, but enjoy the whole experience, rest when you can, treat yourself and get plenty of souvenirs! Also, plenty of pics....

  • Good evening all,

It's a wet one here in Wicklow. Im waiting on a delayed train home so thought I would introduce myself here.Β
I'm Patrick, a thirty-nine year old newbie gardener. My wife and I finally escaped the city and are enjoying a small garden of a new build.Β
We have gone mad planting and not in an orderly manner. One of the best to take was a Eucalyptus gunni which has doubled in size since Spring.Β
We aim to trim it to keep it as a bush as it would dominate ours (and others) rear gardens when too big.
My wife is from Peru and Eucalyptus have replaced the native trees which the Spanish cut down. So it remijds her of home.Β
Ive also recently started a small veg garden in raised beds and pots. I have broad beans and garlic. Both have had speedy starts.

I hope everyone enjoys the weekend.Β

I'm in no pain @Songbird-2. That's why I've been delaying getting it sorted for so long ;) I might try and organise my next blood donation before having the tooth out as it could affect me being able to donate.

Good to hear you're not in pain @biglad, big bonus, but still, I would try and get it out asap. You never know when pain may strike....like Β Christmas DayπŸ˜¬πŸ™‚

Hello and welcome @AvondalePatrick. I hope you're not stranded for too long on that delayed train. I hope you and your OH have a wonderful new life in your new home and lovely new garden to start off. It will be exciting times for you both.

My OH and I moved to our present home nearly five years ago now and we are still adding to, taking out, creating new beds, taking out grass and growing plenty of new seeds, spread around a greenhouse, two cold-frames and a green plastic greenhouse ( which is useful in the summer as it's in the shade. Some plants droop badly so they go in there over summer.) Β You will find out all about the joys of gardening when you get cracking. You've made a good start with your Β Eucalyptus Gunnii. Β

    Morning all (from the CA),

I'm already techno-grumpy today :o . Sick of extra layers of security being introduced that only seem designed to prevent me accessing my own accounts. Just seeing on the news that QR code fraud is the latest scam on the increase over recent years. I will continue to refuse to engage with those, on the basis that if I never use something, it can't be used against me.

I can hear rain but it doesn't sound too heavy or persistent. I have to get some stuff done in the garden today. Work is now going to mean that I'll be pretty busy during weekday daylight hours until 22nd Dec.

Good morning all and welcome @AvondalePatrick - so nice to meet you. What a lovely way to keep those memories for your wife. Eucalypts always remind me of the Australian branch of my family.
