Spring has almost sprung, so new thread in a week or so..
Meanwhile, state of play.. ..today I planted 'Tam O'Shanter', a little known Austin.. nice juvenile foliage.. 'Kathleen Harrop' romping away.. ..early bud on 'Comtesse Andre d'Oultremont'.. a Lens Hybrid Musk rose.. ..this is 'Bienvenue'. a pink climber for my arch.. I think it'll take off this Spring.. ..'Marie Pavie'.. 'Sophie's Perpetual'..
March next week February doesn't half go fast compared to January. I haven't even finished pruning the roses yet the garden a no go area its so wet . My roses aren't as far on the buds are starting to break though .
When should I expect the annual DA 15% off ? March ?
I’ve decided to remove the willow roof of this sitting area so I can train the roses over it- Florentina (left), Golden Gate (back) and Peach Melba (right). I’m not sure it will be a good or practical idea, but we’ll see how it turns out.
And another favourite photo from the summer: sweet honey
@pitter-patter I enjoy all your drool worthy photos; much classier than the spreads in gardening magazines
@Marlorena your roses are much advanced. I have a handful of roses yet to be pruned. I was planning to finish pruning by end Feb. If we have dry weather over the weekend, that would be great 😃 Right now my garden is a clayey slippery mess 😌
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Your sitting area with your roses climbing up the trellis lattice-work is just heaven, @pitter-patter. I had never thought of doing that. You have given me lots of ideas, thank you.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus

..early March usually.. about the time we get the catalogue..
Also, lovely foliage and buds on your roses. I’ve just finished pruning the last one today - starlight symphony.
My new rose is 'Queen Anne'.. an Austin you don't hear much about. Thanks..
More photos please..
