Sending positive thoughts your way @newbie77.

Hurrah for that @Marlorena, it's grey here but comparatively mild so I'm going out to start pruning the roses as soon as I've finished my coffee.

Here in the SE of England, I’ve got buds and new growth starting on some roses. Is it too early to prune?

  • We have already had some frosts here in the North West, but I think everything is ok in the garden. Whilst we are on the subject of pruning, do I need to prune my newly planted bare roots this winter? If so, do I wait  until there is new growth to prune, or prune what is already there? I didn't prune them when I planted them and they are in pots. I have Little Buckaroo, Midnight Blue and Open Arms, which is a climber.
I also want to put Open Arms into a bigger pot - when will be he best time to do that?

    Thanks.

  • My cat just posted that before I was ready, by lying on the keyboard.

I was going to say I usually go by Christopher Lloyd's answer to when is the best time to do anything in the garden; "When you feel like it".
