  • Glad you slept well @coccinella … good lunch with the tooth. I had one pulled last year. It was a little reluctant to move but the dentist and nurse were very kind and all went well and I had absolutely no trouble from it. Hope the same is for you. 🤞

Son is up and gone to work … I’ve applied his cream, put on his compression sleeves etc  and helped with the trickier parts of getting dressed .., socks and shoes are particularly tricky for him but with a long handled shoe horn he’s getting there. 👍  he’s a very determined (stubborn) individual … when I chose his name I remember thinking of Robert the Bruce and the spider … it’s turned out to be appropriate 🙄

Now for a more leisurely coffee then my shower, then there’s a load for the washing machine and some tomatoes to pick …

    Morning all.

I hope your tooth pulling goes well @coccinella.

I'm going outside to do a bit of weeding before it gets too hot. Just waiting for the washing machine to finish.

    Hi all

Lovely sunny day here, am hoping to manage some gentle gardening, whilst supervising the increasingly reluctant under gardener.
We spent a lovely day with our grand niece Anastasia, yesterday.

Morning all, we slept a bit later as well, not sure why as I went to bed just after ten.
Do you think our internal clocks are telling us to get ready for hibernation?

My sock gadget I bought from A.....n was a great help @Dovefromabove in enabling me
to put my own socks on and worked better than anticipated. We've now put it away ready for OH's 2nd hip operation when he'll need it.

Good luck with the tooth pulling @coccinella - it will all be over by tomorrow!

Glad you enjoyed your day out @punkdoc. Anastasia is such a pretty name.

    Good morning all.

And the risk of Covid @coccinella  it seems to have reared its ugly head again; this time with a new strain!!

I hope you are tolerated the car @punkdoc   Finally!! @Hostafan1   Summer in September!!  Maybe a pleasant Indian Summer for you.

I received a text from  my niece yesterday afternoon.  They were on the approach to Madrid and got a Civil Alert text to warn of the flash flooding and torrential downpours,  not to get into your car unless strictly necessary etc etc (in english).   They'd had a lot of rain as they drove further into Spain near Zaragoza.  Anyway, they got to the accommodation safely and had to stop there the night - they are still there now and said there is thunder and lightning and more rain.  So no going out to get the boy his student card which he will need to get a bus pass etc.  Hope it all gets sorted and the rain eases.

Pleasant weather here although a little overcast with some sun peeping out.  Not too hot.

I hope everyone got to school this morning - it is first day here too.  Have a pleasant day everyone.

I AM FURIOUS. The dentist cancelled my appointment because it is a kind of intervention that must be done by a specialist. Didn't she know this when she took the Xray 2 months ago? Now I have to wait until the 13 to see said specialist. Knowing my luck this tooth is going to burst into an abscess on wedding day because I very much doubt he can do it before the 18th which is the day I am leaving for Rome for my son's wedding. 🤬🤬🤬

    Fingers very crossed @coccinella 🤞 🤞 🤞

💡 Would someone prescribe some antibiotics as a prophylactic to guard against it getting infected for the wedding?

Went for a walk on the beach followed by a picnic yesterday evening - we chose the right day 🧡💜

Looks like another lovely day in store today - planning to take my book onto the patio (Monty’s Japanese Gardens ….we have a trip coming up in the autumn and I am using him as a guru to help plan some of our itinerary).

Luckily most of our garden jobs got done last week in the cool, so nothing to do at the moment apart from order some bulbs.  And I can do that from my perch on the patio too.

Great painting @Busy-Lizzie - would you like to come and work your magic here?  We moved in nearly 18 years ago and the place is beginning to look a bit frayed around the edges 🫣.  But the garden is looking great ……therein lies the tale.

Glad you had a good visit with the next generation @punkdoc, and hope you get to visit your brother soon @Lizzie27

Enjoy the next few days @Hostafan1 😎😎😎😎😎😎

No thanks, @chicky, I've had enough of painting!

The washing machine has decided to to do an extra rinse and a 3 hour programme when I asked it to do a 1 1/2 programme. I've been gardening but it's getting too hot.

The wood burner that I ordered on special offer for the sitting room has just been delivered. It was cheaper from the local DIY place than online. It will be fitted in October.
