Thank you @AnnaB for your welcome. We will be here for a month, then France for a month then I'm back to France for Christmas with my family and OH will be in England with his family.
I enjoyed the SM this morning. Much more choice of veg than my French SM.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We have had a lovely day at Harlow Carr, surprised how far I managed to walk, as long as I took plenty of rests. I hope tomorrow goes well, @Dovefromabove
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Afternoon all, we've had a nice day. Took our friends into Bath using the nearby P&R which is very useful. Picked up my remodelled gold chain from the jewellers and meandered about the posh top end of town. Unfortunately the Assembly Rooms were closed so walked back down and had coffee/cake/rest. OH bought me a very floaty blue thin cotton dress + top as part of my delayed birthday presie. We're all just resting now before we take them for dinner at a nice hotel for their 60th wedding anniversary.
Be thinking of you tomorrow @Dovefromabove, it does sound like a very long day ahead. Reminds of my friend's husband funeral who was also a very well known farmer. Large church, absolutely packed, standing room only. Right when the Vicar said his crucial bit, there was just the enormous clap of thunder right overhead, everybody jumped/yelled/laughed - the late Herbert would have thought it very funny!
Evening didyw. I actually thought we were doing really well today, until I just went into the kitchen and stood in a puddle. I have to admit I cannot imagine life without a dog in it. I miss having cats, but hubby doesn't like them, although our last cat was absolutely lovely. Course if you have cat,dog or human baby, you have to housetrain them. It amazes me how late mothers do the latter these days, when I had mine,it was normal to have them out of nappies around 2. I was old school although I could have used disposable ones, thought they were a waste of money. Once you had a good set of Harringtons they lasted for donkeys years. Not sure if I should go and curmudge, Phillipa Drew promised me rain yesterday and today,we have had NONE!!! I have got 2 lots of washing dry though.
Good morning Forkers - Good afternoon Pat The wee dolls are just lovely. I like them.
Still morning - 19°C an the sun is not long up.
I hope you got some rest @AuntyRach and the car issues are solved. I had our V8 films transferred to a DVD. Of course they are away safely in a cupboard!! You guys are in the wars @floralies - watch the hip - I know it's time to start tidying up the garden but autumn is with us until November. You are a good doggy person @Nanny Beach Socialising a puppy is so important. Our girl likes going to the café (not during the summer tourist months) - but I have to admit; she's only allowed a decaf!! I think the funeral today @Dovefromabove will be a memorable and good occasion. Thank you @didyw - my nose is itchy this morning - I just look as if I've been on the red wine all night. It's really red now!!
Preparing a couple of meals so that I can rest 48h after my knee injection tomorrow morning. Washing lettuce and vegetables. Goodness, I am so positive that it will work darn it! Dog walkers organised. Sticks and balls polished! My new OH was adamant that he would come from Montpeliier to "care" for me, but I am rather like a cat and prefer to dump myself on the couch with nibbles and back to back series!!! He is in the throes of moving flats so is amidst cartons and bubble paper - and stress, so I am trying to let him know that I'm fine on me tod!! I know I will offend him.
Today...A la Sainte Croix, cueille tes pommes et gaule tes noix.
Reading on this forum, I see there are apples a-plenty. They store well in a cool dark place - if unblemished.

Mellors packed his in open crates between layers of newspaper and stored them in his cool garage. He finished the last of last year's crop a couple of months ago!
Sadly no apples a-plenty here. I stupidly planted a Miscanthus Malpartus adjacent to it a few years ago and it wasn't until I noticed that the tree was losing its leaves and its apples tiny that I realised the Miscanthus, now huge, was taking all the available moisture and nutrients and the poor apple tree suffering for it. I shall remove the malpartus (in fact there are 2 - there is another one not too far away, so I'll probably remove that as well), prune the apple, give it a good water and mulch and hope for the best for next year.
Those dollies are adorable @Pat E! If I still had my little craft shop I would definitely have those in it!

Glad you made it @Busy-Lizzieback to Norfolk.

Hope your nose is okay @tui34.
Sounds like you've had rather a trying time @AuntyRach.
Goodness @didyw, how many Committees are you on? I found them quite tedious at times, so don't volunteer any more.
Never been to Harlow Carr @punkdoc but would one day like to. We might be visiting Yorkshire next year with the car club, so fingers crossed.
Time to get ready. See you all later.
awake, Wordle done and second coffee nearly finished … now you get up and start to get us all ready. We need to leave at 8.30 …
