Belated Happy Birthday to @Busy-Lizzie. Hope you had a good day.

Just back from  walking the dogs. Absolutely soaked through - right to my underwear  :o We have reasonably good waterproof clothing but it wasn't up to the downpour we have today - OH was also soaking wet. My waterproof boots had the effect of keeping the water in that was soaking though my coat and trousers, so I actually poured it out in the sink when we got back.

Dogs have a had a good wash though  :)

Now in dry clothes, the wet stuff is in the washing machine, got my music on. May light the fire in a bit - it's not cold but it helps to drive the damp off. Think I'll get my sewing out - it's definitely not gardening weather

Afternoon all,  I had expected to get very wet as well @raisingirl but managed to fetch the Sunday paper before it started to rain heavily about mid-day. It's still raining heavily now but not yet the torrential, stormy weather as forecast. It's horrible having cold water in your boots.

OH is away all day so I'm just pottering, done some ironing, dyed my eyebrows (they are going white just like my father's did!) and some tidying.  I also phoned my poorly brother, he's slowly getting better but absolutely fed up with being stuck in hospital, especially without many visitors, we're all so far away.  Our elder brother did drive down from Manchester to see him which was great. They are very close. Still no news on any transfer being arranged.

We've noticed the small birds are now being more active, especially around the bird feeders @AuntyRach. Looks like we're now getting your weather coming in.

Keep up the relaxing @tui34.  Beautiful photo @coccinella.

  • Good afternoon,  you can send the rain here @raisingirl , spent the morning pottering in the garden, cooler breeze and dark clouds kept coming over. Finally we have just had a few  minutes of fine rain barely enough to wet the patio and paths. Five flowers on the morning glory today but already wilting and curling up such a shame they are so short lived.

GD going back to  uni next week so Grandma is in the shepards pie and lasagne factory,  all to be portioned up for her freezer. At least she will have some nutritious meals.  😉

I absolutely love the colour of your Morning Glory @Allotment Boy. I only grew it once, I must try again.

  • Thanks I only grew them this year because of free seeds in the GW magazine. They made masses of top growth,  and have only just started to flower in the last couple of weeks.

Beautiful colour on the Morning Glory @Allotment Boy.  Think I'll have a try at that next year too.

Lazy day today.  OH is doing some ironing bless him.  I've been simply pootling about looking at things I shouldn't be looking at online. (Not that kind of thing!). I ordered a new skirt online the other day, because it will go with lots of things I already have.  But that hasn't stopped me looking at things that might also go with it.  So now I also have a jumper and a top on the way...

Just popping in while I have some internet, new live box on Friday but it's even worse, I am tethered from my phone to the laptop at the moment. Belated birthday wishes @Busy-Lizzie, looks as if you had a lovely day. It's very hot and humid, I see storms the other side of the mountains, and it's raining heavily in Bordeaux at the Rugby, such a shame it's so one sided.
Hope you are all OK. Will try and catch up later!

@punkdoc Fijians are the one to keep an eye on - they could just be full of surprises!!

@tui34. You know it makes sense, rest! I think my back injection didn't work because I took no care of myself.
@Dovefromabove if our Suffolk friends put us up again next year we might meet at some concerts, they go regularly.
@raisingirl while getting wet is not nice, isn't the contrast that our homes and kettles and music provide just wonderful when we get in from the cold? Ah bliss.
Countryfile has the final of "One man and his dog" tonight. I adore border collies so my evening is sorted.

@coccinella - it's so that the "gel" doesn't "bleed" all over the place, and just goes into the right spaces - if I have understood correctly.
