I did @Lizzie27 !!  And I told him that I would put a notice upon the entry door reading "The Murder House" !!  If I'd known that that was the case, he would have heard a lot more from me.  We all make mistakes - why on me?  He is competent and has been with this service for years.  Just a bad hair day!

With your other health issues, @punkdoc, it makes enormous sense for you to get the second hip done while you are well enough to undergo the procedure. That would prioritise you over many other patients on the list anyway, so no reason for you to feel guilty at all. Seize the opportunity!

@Dovefromabove, so glad the funeral was such a wonderful celebration of a life well lived. He obviously made a great and lasting impression on so many people, and that must have been a great comfort to you.

Horrified to hear about your hip, @tui34. I have recently seen the physio about my left hip, the side I like to sleep on, which has been painful enough to keep me awake at night. He had told me to come back for a corticosteroid injection in it If it didn’t improve with exercises. I had a similar jab in the other hip many years ago, and haven’t had any problems with it since. Now you’ve really put me off!  Luckily, it has really improved and is almost back to normal. Not, I hasten to add, as a result of me doing the exercises regularly, I’m chronically lazy. I have put it down to putting a mattress topper on our rather firm mattress and have been surprised at what a big difference it has made.

I spent a few hours in Bath today, and it certainly has changed since we moved away, @Lizzie27 . For the better, I’m glad to say. The posh shopping district just across the road from the station is a huge improvement on that grim concrete shopping arcade that used to be there. The pedestrianised road up to Milsom Street is looking very prosperous. It had got rather rough before we left the area, but today, it looked cheerful and welcoming. I would consider moving back here, especially as it would be nearer both sets of children.
Hope everyone has a reasonable, and even enjoyable, weekend.

Glad you enjoyed your visit to Bath @Ergates. It is in effect my home city as I was born just outside and I've never lived anywhere else. Spoilt for choice! There have been enormous changes over the years of course, some good, some not so good but when the sun shines on the pale Bath stone, it is such a beautiful city to live in. In one of my previous homes, I could stand on tiptoe in the garden and look straight across to the Royal Crescent. a view I really treasured. I don't think I could bear to live anywhere flat and without a view.

I'm so very sorry to read of all the difficulties (especially the painful ones) that several of you are suffering from. Sending healing thoughts and hugs to all who need them.

What an amazing turnout and service @Dovefromabove, a wonderful way to celebrate the life of someone who was obviously so special and well loved. Glad that you felt surrounded by the love and support that you must have needed.

Pleased to hear that you will be getting your next hip done before long @punkdoc, just remember to take it easy for a sensible while after - no more falling over in the flower bed (if I remember correctly?).

Enjoy the weekend folks - come rain or shine.

Wow! Someone put a huge effort into making those dolls. Very impressive!  😁

Im glad your family day went so well Dove. It’s hard to get through those times. And, well done Wonky!  You’re such a lovely daughter.

Can you believe that the temp on the veranda this morning was 50 degrees!   15.9 in here.  I looked for Pixel and found her laying on my chair on the veranda. I don’t know how she can do it. Too hot for me. No wood fire yesterday and again yesterday.   It seems as though the seasons really are changing.

Suitably upside down to account for it coming from AUSTRALIA. 😳 der!.

I’m a bit out of balance. Hubby got called out to a fire to the north of us. I went out to take a photo and lost my balance.🤬. There’ll be bruises on my hip later and I have discovered missing skin on my elbow.   Darn it.

    ,,,

It’s very windy today to go with the higher temperatures.  Grrr.

So sorry to read that you took a tumble @Pat E, hope you wont feel too uncomfortable over the next few days with your bruises. What a change in temperature, are you safe from those fires if the wind should change direction? Please take care.
