Thank you @Rubee@Busy-Lizzie and @Ladybird4Β I'm hoping I get a better nights sleep tonight. I was given some sleeping tablets from my Dr a few weeks ago, but they didn't work really, helped me nod off, but unfortunately not for long and still kept waking up several times during the night.Β I've seen a different Dr since and he said to just sleep when my body tells me to and if I'm awake during the night, just read, watch TV etc. My brain won't switch off at the moment, which he just says that's normal for what I'm going through. Which of course it is, but I just need some sleep. Perhaps I'll try Night nurse @Ladybird4 Glad you're dinner party went well @Busy-Lizzie @Ante1 good to see you. @Songbird-2 thinking of you.
Good morning all. I didn't sleep too badly last night so I'm hoping SGL has had a better one. Off to Bestie's later taking the lemon drizzle cake I made yesterday. It seems to have finally stopped raining - I wonder how long for this time.

Morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow l surprisingly slept slightly better thank you, but did take a while to nod off. Glad you slept better too. I'm going to a funeral today and to be honest I'm dreading it, but I have to go. It's a friend of my OH.Β They found out in August he had cancer andΒ died end September. No time at all.Β
Good morning folks .LB enjoy your time at your Besties. The cake will be lovely with a cup of tea. Lily I am pleased that you had a better night . Look after yourself today .I have a few indoor jobs to do this morning .Then garden tidying .
Good afternoon everyone. When I went out to go to Bestie's there was frost on the grass! After all that rain yesterday, the sky was blue and the sun was shining. It was a proper Autumnal morning. Bestie and I had a lovely chatty day and the cake went down a treat Ruby. Later we were joined by her daughter and partner who just got back from their cruise yesterday. They both looked very healthy and tanned and had had a super time.
SGL, I do hope that the funeral was not too traumatic for you. I would have been in floods of tears. It would have been my youngest brother's wedding anniversary today and I find it hard to believe it is almost the first anniversary of his passing.
Busy, I knew it was sometime this month you were going back to France. You will be living up to your name in the next few hours. Are you staying with relatives further south before getting the ferry or driving through the Chunnel?

Been glorious here today but only managed to sneak outside briefly. Little bit cheesed off - it's supposed to be an easier week and talk of not working all hours or finishing late on Friday from my superiors. Fair enough but when I submit my week's work for checking a day earlier than I've been able to previously and it then takes 24 hrs for my immediate boss to check it all time gained has been lost.Β Β Β
By the way, anybody else getting inundated with attempts to get them to re-mortgage or take out loans? In this day and age of targeted advertising, why would someone with savings, in the last year of a mortgage and who has never taken out a loan in their life be interested in getting into that kind malarkey? Know your audience! Β
What ho Biglad! That job is a PITA just think of the money! I have to say that I have never been inundated with such notices. I remember the super feeling when the last of my mortgage payments was paid. It would be interesting to know how they got your contact details.

It's raining, garden needs it, it hasn't rained for a bit.
We go back to France tomorrow. I'll be changing the sheets and doing other things I can't mention. Kitchen compost bucket needs dealing with.
