Morning everyone, I had an awful night's sleep again last night. Still awake till after 3. My eyes feel like they're half way down my face. Seeing a friend this morning for a chat and coffee. Then need to get some bits from SM.Β Had missed your post just now @Songbird-2 so sorry things aren't going well at the moment. Hope not too bad and can be sorted soon. Thinking of you, sending hugs. Take care of yourself too Hazel. @ladybird4 glad you got things sorted at the bank.
It certainly looks greyer outside this morning.Β I don't feel cold though.Β Hoping the cold weather stays away for a bit longer @Ladybird4 It will certainly help with having a shorter winterπ€Β and not turning the heating on yet.Β
Good morning everyone . Hazel thinking of you . Hope to see you soon .Lily itβs horrid when you canβt sleep . Try to rest later in the day . LB enjoy your baking .Save some for us .
I hope the family issues can be sorted out @Songbird-2. We'll miss you.
I'm sorry you are having trouble sleeping @star gaze lily. That happened to me too so I saw the Doc and she gave me some pills that helped. Just for 3 weeks so that I could get into the habit of sleeping again.
My dinner party went well. The 2 couples seemed to get on. One couple, who live in our village, also have a house in France.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
SGL I am so sorry that sleep is escaping you at the moment. When I am desperate I take Night Nurse - other remedies are available.
Busy, good news about the dinner with your friends. I'll bet you had a lot to talk about with a shared experience of France and Norfolk. Were the people not known to each other before dining chez Busy?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
well, itβs quite a change weather wise, being wet and cooler. However, it didnβt stop us having a run out to a local heritage centre which houses a variety of shops, an antiques centre and a small museum outlining the history of the site. It wasnβt raining to start with, but even when it did, we could dodge the showers. Spent a good hour in the antiques place looking at the wide variety of stuff on offer - some of it not too bad, some of I wouldnβt give houseroom too π, then had a nice lunch in the tearoom.
Yesterday was a day of tidying the garden, cutting the grass and lifting up weeds and tackling the ivy, that seems to get everywhere as soon as our backs are turned. We will never be able to get rid of it entirely, but at least we can try to keep it tamed - a little is good for the wildlife.
This evening will be a lazy one in front of the tv if thereβs anything worth watching, otherwise continue with my book.
Hi Red maple. I have an ivy that fits your description exactly. I wanted to tackle mine as it is green bin day tomorrow but the persistent rain put the kibosh on that plan! If it is dry early in the morning, I might get some trimmed and in the bin before the refuse collectors arrive.

We still can enjoy in sun and heat, till Sunday. Forecast promise us proper autumn weather next week. I was again at cottage, and will go tomorrow. I must take advantage off such nice days. Tomorrow will also arrive first package with seeds for next year. C*****s arrives early for me.π Now I'm going to make cup of tea, and will read back. Hope you all had a nice day.Β Β
