  • I didn't like the man dressed as a woman,I'm sure they could've done something else,a fast jive to the car scene would have been better........hydromatic systematic etc......

I thought that was a creative bit of storytelling and styling. Really didn’t have a problem with it. TV is full of drag artists that are quite ‘in your face’ and I thought that the styling yesterday was elegantly done and worked really well with the piece of music.

That role in Grease is one of my all-time favourites … a ‘version’ of Anita (Rita Moreno) in West Side Story, and very much about being categorised and judged, so I thought it was very appropriate.

Any comments on the ten from Shirley  ?
I definitely thought it was "way too early", and undeserved. Anton's comments were spot on in my opinion.

There were some brilliant performances last night and even those that are not so good have improved, I think that Jody and Nikita for the bottom two this week although you never can tell which way the public vote. Our votes went to Bobby, Angela S and Amanda this week but in truth they could have gone to any three of eight.

Did anyone notice the young lady sitting behind Craig?

Biting her nails, playing with her hair, fidgeting with her dress and generally looking as though she would rather be anywhere else.
I wondered why she was there when some people would give their eye teeth for a ticket.
Turns out she is Amanda Abbington's daughter. I must replay it to see her reaction to Craig's judging her mother dancing the rumba 😳.

I much preferred Diane with her natural brown hair rather than her usual harsh red.

I have had "Moon River" playing in my head all night. Could have been worse, it could have been the Batman theme 😁.

I admit that I belong to the "two left feet" brigade, so not qualified to judge but I do love Angela Scanlon.  As far as I know, she's not a trained dancer, unlike Layton Williams who, apparently, has had years of training since young.  I think she's quite something!

I think the difficulty with scoring Jody and Nikita is the fact that they could  only rehearse for two days … I think in those circumstances they performed well. Who knows how much better the performance would’ve been if they’d had as much time as the others? Are they to be penalised for a problem relating to his disability?

Another "two-left -feet" no dancer, here!

I feel the same about her.  As for LW, that sort of thing happens fairly regularly and we then get "worthy winners".  Do you remember one chap called Jay?  He had dancing lessons for well over a decade, if memory serves; yet, he was declared the winner over those who had never had a lesson in their lives.  Apparently, he danced better than the rest.  Now, there's a surprise!

Not for me Dove, but each to their own.🙂

Did anyone notice how Bobby resembled Mick Jagger in his younger days? What some hip swivels.

  • @Valley Gardener Except if they had Layton do a second dance in the Latin category following on from a fast paced ballroom, that wouldn't be fair on the other couples who have done fast and slow routines. We all know he can dance with great exuberance, but can he dance at a slower pace with a greater emphasis on measured subtlety and grace? A Viennese waltz was the perfect follow on to two very high powered routines.

@AnniD Most definitely too early. My personal feelings are that 10s should be given out when the line between the celeb and the pro becomes blurred. Eddi did a great dance but Karen was still very obviously the pro.
