I'm not sure they get the choice of dances each week. I remember in the early days each couple had to alternate Latin and ballroom and they often began with cha-cha and English/slow waltz.
I suspect someone decided that was too predictable and boring so they added the extra dances with fewer rules and shook up the order a bit.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I thought Annabelle's Viennese Waltz was really beautiful and the judges gave very good comments so I was surprised by the marks. I expected them to be higher.
I didn't like Leyton's Rumba. I liked Boɓby's Quickstep. I didn't like Ellie's couples choice though I thought her Cha Cha was great.
I still want Ellie to win.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I was sorry to see Annabel leave although l think she was the weakest of the semi finalists.
As was mentioned several times she is "what Strictly is all about", and her grace and dignity moved me to tears several times. As for her relationship with Johannes, they could not have chosen a better partner for her.
I'm glad she didn't make the final as it meant she was able to have the time to express her thank-you's so eloquently. When the winner is announced the other finalists seem to be forgotten, and as it's a live show there always seems to be a rush at the end.
They used to do a follow up show live on the "red button" but l don't think that that happens these days ?
Annabel showed grace and dignity throughout her whole time on Strictly and Johannes was the perfect partner for her. What a lovely lady. But she was the right choice to go this week.
I do enjoy watching Layton and Nikita but can't help hoping they don't win as he already has so much experience as a west end performer.
Bobby is adorable and will go on to great things I'm sure - but Ellie, for me, has shown the most improvement and growth and I will be voting for her to win.

Bobby's quick step was brilliant.
Next week should be really good.
