@Helen P3  I agree much prefer Len to Shirley. And such a shame that Darcy left, Motsi does seem to shout all the time and stumble over what she wants to say.

There does seem to be a lack of rigor from the judges this year … Craig excepted.

The right one left but I'm glad she made it to Blackpool.

I find Motsi very irritating. Len was the best. Now that Darcey isn't there OH has stopped watching it!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

A man who has the courage of his convictions.  Lovely! :)

  • When Darcey first started judging she was such a hooray Henrietta ,"you dance so well yar".
  • And what’s anyone’s accent, dialect or use of vernacular speech got to do with anything on Strictly?

I miss Darcy's calmness. I don't recall her leaping up from her seat every 5 minutes.

To be honest Craig is the only one that l take any notice of. Shirley and Anton may know the technicalities inside out, but l often get the feeling that Craig sees it from the "ordinary" viewer's perspective.
The times l've sat watching and muttering "He's right" while the audience (and professionals in the Clauditorium as well l think) boo him like he's the pantomime baddie.

OH and I have both found Craig to be the most reasonable and rational judge for some years tho we don't always agree.

Motsi uses a lot of words without saying much at all most of the time.  Anton sounds all too often as tho he's developed an on stage stammer and spouts inconsequential noises tho he's good when he does manage some proper critique of posture, technique and performance.    Shirley can be spot on too but is all too often inconsistent and has her favourites which is just not on for a judge, let alone head judge.

  • @Dovefromabove It was just an observation no need to take it personally. Len used to say "I'll pickle me wallnuts", Craig says "Fabulous Darling", Shirley says "Niane", these are my observations maybe you would like to comment?
  • How could I be taking it personally @barry island ?  … I’m not Darcey Bussell nor do I speak like her.

My observation is that your comment about the way someone spoke was unnecessarily pejorative, and had no other purpose; it was simply a comment on her accent; so I asked what that had to do with anything on Strictly. 🤷‍♀️
