Another good show. Think it could be Angela Rippon that goes this week. Didn't like her dress, did look rather fuddy duddy. Didn't like Laytons dance this week. Bobby and Ellie danced well and so did Angela S. Felt sorry for Nigel, he looked so upset for making a mistake. Thought the scores were rather random again.
I agreed with Craig for most of the evening, particularly his comments regarding Layton and Nikita being out of sync. To be honest l always find myself watching Nikita, the way he clung on to the pole at the end made me come over somewhat unnecessary 😳.
Annabel and Johannes' relationship is just lovely. Something in my eye by the end of their dance.
I agree it's time for Angela Rippon to leave. I thought the backing dancer coped very well with the situation. Not sure who will be in the dance off with her though.
Once again for me the show was affected by the BBC's poor camera work, why Angela Scanlon had to dance behind light posts I don't know the Argentine tango would have looked better if the camera could have got up close and personal, I've noticed over the years that the Argentine tango has a certain affect over the dancers which takes a few minutes for them to get over and last night was no different in that respect. I love that dance when its done well. I thought that Angela Rippon's dance was cleverly choreographed in such a way as to deceive the viewers into thinking that she was doing a lot more than she actually was and even then she looked lost at times. Bobby's jive was a real spectacular but I kept waiting for Craig to mention his hands not that he can do a lot about having large hands. Layton and Nikita's dance was amazing but I can't vote for him although he deserves it because he is sure to get through and Angela Scanlon, Bobby and Ellie must in my opinion progress to next week so they got our votes. A word about Anton, though he is one of my favourite judges if not the favourite judge but he really needs to think about what he is going to say before he actually gives his critique, for some weeks now he has come out with, Hey, wow, bam, hello, I'll have some of that, which is funny in small doses but is getting a bit too much in my opinion. I think that as Angela Rippon has been in the bottom two twice recently she will go out this week
Inclined to agree with you @barry island a lot of good points made. Glad there were no extra dancer's in that Argentine tango. I liked Annabel very much very ethereal, they have a lovely connection I think.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
Did anyone spot Angela R. in the group dance? It was only brief but she just looked so clumsy. I think she will go this week, now that she had done Blackpool and come full circle.
I liked Layton and Nikita's dance. I knew it would be good - this is what Layton does for a living and he didn't have to learn any pesky ballroom or latin steps. Nice for Nikita to be able to just dance with someone he could trust to deliver. Craig, not for the first time, marked them down 1 because of the choreography, not the dance.
I agree about Anton @barry island, there was a point last night when he was struggling for something to say. Sometimes he seems to be channelling Bruno, but l must admit l prefer him to Bruno's OTT persona .
I like his more measured critiques, especially in the Ballroom dances, but l suppose he doesn't want to take away from "Dame" Shirley as head judge.
Someone needs to give clear critique on teh ballroom and it's clearly not going to be Shirley whose speciality was Latin anyway and who is clearly not an impartial or consistent judge.

I noticed the poor camera work too, @barry island and I missed alot of the movement because the camera was out of focus or something was in the foreground, in the way etc
When Anton first did his 'wham bam' stuff back in October, I thought he was employing psychological tactics towards the dancers, but now I wonder if he is struggling to think of something constructive to say. I think the dancers need a bit more of a response!
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
I always think when watching Layton it’s a West End Show A R’s time must be up now ? perhaps the other couple in dance off could be Nigel , he certainly didn’t look happy
I have found the camera work and direction difficult for years. They concentrate too much on effect and glamour rather than the dancers and their feet and arms which, after all, is what the judges are watching for position and finishing as well as the choreographies.
If it is AR and Nigel in the dance off the judges are going to have a hard time picking between all Nigel's errors and AR's lack lustre dance, tho that is hardly her fault.
