@Obelixx , I agree some of the costumes have not been very flattering

@Valley Gardener, this is Angela Rippon's dance as revealed on It Takes Two.

They will be dancing an American Smooth to Ella Fitzgerald's version of Tea for Two
Angela said it was a sort of old Hollywood style routine with backing dancers. Unsurprising, as it is Blackpool.
    There will be three lifts.

  • What a fantastic show this evening. Thought they all did really well, very entertaining.

  • Yes they all did well. What did you all think of Angela R's American Smooth? I didn't like it very much, but not sure why.

  • AR was my least favourite. I know it's awful to say it, but for me she is just too old. I can't get past it.

I think Annabelle is my favourite.

I love what Leyton and his partner did, but it doesn't feel like a very fair playing field....

Ellie's Charleston was very good, such a lot of work.

All good really, I'd hate to be a judge.

  • I know what you are saying @D0rdogne_Damsel, I think the style of the dance was a bit fuddy-duddy and AR was back wearing one of those fuddy-duddy wigs which did not help. I also thought Craig got 'back-chat' from her professional dancing partner, which put me off.

Annabelle's dance was my favourite too and there is something really tender between her and her professional dancing partner in their dancing, maybe it is the connection that makes all the difference.

Agree re the unfair playing-field and Layton. I kept thinking Krishnan could still be in the competition if only those with less experience were admitted at the start - it makes the whole thing feel a bit rigged for me, except that the public vote for their favourites, so maybe that balances things out. I include AR  as having more experience than average really I think, because she has clearly had ballroom dancing classes before the competition began. I don't mind her age so much but her neck and shoulder stiffness for me means she looks older and very rigid when attempting certain movements that she cannot attain.

Ellie and Angela S dance so well, although I was very slightly underwhelmed this week by their routines.

It will be interesting to see who goes...

Hello all currently staying with family so not seen show but it’s recorded for next week
  • I felt sorry for Nigel, he obviously had high hopes of closing the show with a bang and was so disappointed not to have achieved that. They are all so brave for attempting it and to put themselves up for such scrutiny.

I really do like the show and if you take away all the hype I do think once they're all signed up they do all genuinely try very hard to succeed.

Certainly keeps us all chatting all week . 😅

  • I forgot about poor Nigel! I thought he recovered well from being on the wrong foot a few times. Yes it does give us plenty to chat about, we all have various perspectives, which makes it fun to dissect! 😄

Loved Annabelle's and Angela S's dances - both beautifully choreographed and performed and I liked that Carlos didn't clutter the AT with extra dancers.   Ellie's dance was good but neither moving nor enough fun for me.

Didn't like Angela R's routine - looked old fashioned and fuffy duddy and hardly used that wonderful floor and I think she wasn't given a chance to shine.  Dreadful sleeves on that frock too.

Bobby's most attractive dance so far and he did well cos being so tall and long-limbed makes jive more difficult.

Didn't like Layton's routine - it's supposed to be a dance, not athletics, so is done to the rhythm and in sync.  This wasn't.

I don't think Nigel works hard enough and he makes too many mistakes so he can go.
