Good morning all. Busy few days off here. Retirement party for our pharmacist on Saturday was a great success. Venue was perfect food was good, fiancé made his famous quiches, also lots of home made stuff all delicious, alcohol was cheap and I think the old devil was very touched. He made a speech and said any other branch would be lucky to have his team.
Went to Barmouth for the day on Sunday and spent ages in the sea in our new wetsuits. Perfect day.
Monday was quiet but yesterday I had a massage then an afternoon with my grandsons at a local play centre.
Morning all. Sorry to say it but we have got sun again. Bit too hot for me so will get to the SM quick and get home for the shade. Doing shop a day early this week as a we will be off to sons early doors tomorrow as it's 23's birthday. I'll need to be in fine fettle for such jollities so early in the morning🤭 Seems there's about a year between 23 and your Poppet 2 @star gaze lily, happy times for the little bairns. Debs, pleased the Pharmacist's retirement do went successfully and a nice speech by him. Lovely eats and drinks and busy days following have earned you a day off.
LB that baby video was so cute. Reminded me of my daughter when she was little. She loved wrapping paper. She's 47 now.
I went outside before brekkies this morning as it was only 22°. Did a load of dead heading then noticed that the brambles on the other side of the orchard fence were escaping and trying to take root on my side. I've pruned them all. There are blackberries to pick but by then I was too hot so came back indoors. Saw the temperature on the outside thermometer had risen to 27° and that was before 10am.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I love that little video. I was sent it during lock down, but always puts a smile on my face. Such a lovely chuckle over something so simple. Only hope it didn't teach her to tear up any books or important letters 🤭🤣🤣
@Rubee sorry to hear your OH is in such awful pain. Do hope thus heat today doesn't make it worse. Sending my very best wishes x @Songbird-2 I don't know why but I thought 23 and Poppet were born the same year. They grow up far too fast don't they. Got the few bits I needed from the shops. Went in W*#co not much in there and most things were full price and not much off the few things in sale. Came back had lunch and now far too hot to cut the grass 🥵
Afternoon all. Ruby I am so sorry to read that your OH is in constant pain. That makes it all the more concerning and annoying when you think of his wasted visit the other day.
Good to see you Debs. Your pharmacist had a good send off by the sounds of it. Barmouth is a lovely place to go. Hope you have recovered now from amusing your grandsons!
Busy I think there is no better sound than that of small people laughing. As Red maple hinted at, it is impossible not to join in isn't it?
I am keeping an eye on Jack this next week as his daughter with her daughter and grandson flew off to Tenerife for a holiday. They are not going to where the fires are apparently. Nipped over in the rain to have a brew with him and he looked very well. He had been out doing a bit of gardening at the front of his bungalow. He knows I go to my Bestie's on Thursdays so I told him I would see him when I get back. He is amazing for 92.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Ruby, I'm really sorry to hear that your OH is in constant pain. Hope the doctors can somehow ease pain.
Must admit that I overslept whole afternoon. My town was the hottest in the country today. It was 38,8℃. I'm so glad that I was yesterday at cottage. Now is little bit better but still not good. Hope you all had a decent day. It's time to think about dinner.
