Good luck with the video LB. What sort of thing do you have to do?

My niece 'celebrated' her 30th right in the middle of the second Covid lockdown. Family all over the UK, most hospitality closed, no gatherings etc. Her partner got us all to send him videos so she could have a virtual family party. Took us about 4 goes just to say hello and Happy Birthday!

Morning all. It's feeling muggy here too @star gaze lily but the sun is blazing down in the back garden so we've kept all the blinds shut for now. Couldn't cope with @Ante1's heat and have to work and work again once home( despite a rest!). Plenty of liquids for us all.

We've forgotten my SIL's wedding anniversary ( the other week) , due to all what's going on , so will pop and get them some flowers later today and pop round to see them.

I thought the older one gets, the less there is to think/worry about??🤔

I am just back from a walk up to the village because I had to drop off a repeat prescription request. I did get the automatic repeat prescription reinstated. Apparently it only goes on for so long and you have to restart it. Why don't they tell you that? Debs might know about this type of thing. Its only a mile in each direction and I didn't have a coat or jacket on  and I am completely lathered - and its only 18°C here Ante. Like Hazel, I would dread trying to cope in your temperatures. I will do some gardening before heading out to my friend's place.
T'Bird, its just an ad lib thing and we have more or less decided that we will just introduce one another as they do on Pointless. We didn't need to do one for the Bargain Hunt application. It will be amusing whatever happens.
Hazel, I'm sure you will be forgiven as you have had a lot on your plate recently.

Were you invited to participate on Bargain Hunt LB?
A friend has requested help from the Repair Shop. She has a sampler sewn by (I think!) her g g grandmother which is in desperate need of some TLC. To date I don't think she's been invited on. Bet they get thousands of applications.

Can you do your repeat prescriptions online using the Patient Access (or similar) App? I find it the easiest way to manage mine.

We weren't invited T'Bird. My friend's OH has been mad keen to go on these programmes but his wife, in her own words, isn't brave enough. I told them I was up for anything! He went to the 'Be on a show' website and we applied for Bargain Hunt last Monday. As you say, there will be thousands of applications so there is no guarantee we will be invited. We were rather thrown by the required video for Pointless and, as my friends are living in temporary accommodation whilst a monumental extension is being built on their house, he needed to find his tripod for the camera. Mind you, his wife could film us. Hence completing that application today.
I would love to go on the Repair Shop but have nothing that requires restoration - well apart from me! I love that programme and the skills of those people are truly awesome. I do spend a lot of time tearing up watching the delight of the owners as their items are revealed to them.

We once applied to go on bargain Hunt but never heard back from them. Mustn't be interesting enough🙂
I, too, would love to go to The Repair shop with my family Bible but I think it's too far gone. The earliest inscription on it is 1801 so should be interesting. But it's falling to bits and has been cellotaped  up many times so feel it's beyond repair.
Good luck with your applications though LB.

Back from SM and put away. I'm now having a cup of tea.
The sun did appear for awhile, but it's now behind a big black cloud.
I wonder how long the waiting list is before you appear on Pointless @Ladybird4 hope all goes well with the video
I'd love to go to the Repair shop, but wouldn't want to appear on TV 🤣

I can do that T'Bird but I prefer the one I had before it was so rudely terminated In other words, I do not have to do anything. The prescription regularly goes electronically from my Doc's to the Chemist and man in van just delivers medication to me.

Hazel, by the time we are 27 our brains are so full of stuff it's easy to forget things!

I've been painting a rather rustic built in cupboard on the landing. The landing is all pine panelled and painted in creamy beige, orangey beige gloss and dark brown varnish. It all looked very dark and frumpy. I started painting it all white a while ago but it's been on hold. I've found a mat white renovating paint for the undercoat that says it will stick to any surface even gloss.
