Good morning Busy. did you manage to find your missing album? I am sure he will be delighted with it. I love a good thunderstorm but you are right about one occurring so early in the day - not a good thing.
Its Assumption Day here as well but not celebrated as such apart from by some Churches.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning all. We had a torrential downpour late afternoon yesterday. It was coming down like stair rods. Lasted about 45 minutes non stop, we ended up with areas of garden being flooded. Poor plants are sopping this morning and flattened. However, the sun is trying to peep out so hopefully they will perk up during the day. Rubee, I hope you've managed to get some sleep eventually. Some nights, I'm up and down as the my mind is anything but calm. Take it easy today. Ante, your summer holidays have come and gone so quickly, hope your timetable is a decent one this school year. Busy, hope you enjoy the lunch with son and family.Β
Hello all. Day off today so a few hours in the garden and then out with friends for a meal tonight.Β
@Songbird-2 so sorry to hear that your mom is unhappy itβs a terribly stressful situation I completely empathise. Is there anything you can do to improve matters for her? Even something small may help.Β
Afternoon all. I have had a MOST satisfying time today:
Flag Irises 0 - 6 LB
I did, however, notice quite a lot of those black seeds floating on the pond. I will not allow them to take hold though. I've left the roots and all their disgusting mud (well that that I didn't get covered in anyway) on the pond sides so that any creatures can get back into the pond before I dispose of them. I noticed some ramshorn snails which I picked up and popped back into the water.
I filled the bird feeders in the front and back gardens too. They were completely empty. I am now pooped and am finished outside for today.
Debs, enjoy your meal with your friends tonight.

Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Afternoon all. Just about to go out and dead head the roses. What is it with gardens? One minute they're looking all neat and orderly, turn your back and there's like a hundred jobs to be done! Need to eat an elephant - ie do it a bit at a time.
Yay LBπ₯³. No more tumbles I hope - but do you need a shower now? Mucky job by the sound of it.
Hazel - I'm sure your mum is still going through a settling-in process and it's one that may take many weeks. It's all very alien after having her own space and making all her own decisions for decades (I can so understand that) but hopefully, as time goes by, Β she'll form a friendship or two and start to feel more at home.π It's could be important that she knows you understand how and why this is so difficult for her - but I'm sure you're on top of that. Just sticking my oar in as per usual.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
T'Bird my shower basin got quite gritty by the time I had finished but all is squeaky clean now. I know what you mean about gardens going from sublime to ridiculous. Mine does it all the time.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I am signing out for today. Think I might be making a SM dash tomorrow morning. Have a good evening everyone - I know Debs will! See you in the morning.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Had a good session outside this afternoon - perfect weather!
My loganberries have finished fruiting so I've gone early with pruning back the huge bushes they've become. The garden waste bin is pretty full for collection tomorrow now!
Bit of a mystery in the front garden - this looks suspiciously like a tomato plant. How it has grown there is a bit of a puzzle....
If your garden is anything like mine, then it's not unusual for tomato seeds to get mixed in with the average home produced compost - and thence get spread round the garden.

LB, timetable is changing every year, and it's still not settled, so I don't know yet. As Bussy said, like in France it's Assumption, holy day.Β
