Good morning folks. ❤️❤️ Punkdoc! I thought someone was a bit optimistic saying it's always good when you wake up after an operation,at first yes, then unfortunately the pain kicks in. I am still on a high from being a few weeks pain free.!!

Morning all, especially @punkdoc. I'm not sure which sounded more delicious @Busy-Lizzie, the food,or the other diners

Good morning everyone,  Good to hear from you @punkdoc, on wards and upwards.
Odd weather here the odd few drops of rain every now and then but nothing useful, a bit on the cool side too.  Still way much better than the heatwave hitting southern Europe I  don't think I could cope with mid to high forty degrees.

    Good morning all,

a dull start to the day here, with rain forecast from mid morning to last all day.

Good to hear from you @puncdoc. Sorry your night wasn’t very restful and hope that the staff manage to sort your pain out today so that you can get some sleep today. A relief that the op is over 💐.

The Indian meal sounds delicious, @Busy-Lizzie, and to have enough left for round two tonight is an added bonus 👍🏼.

To all celebrating Bastille day, have a good time. 🍾

    Morning all.

Haven't they given you any morphine @punkdoc? I'm afraid there is pain after an op like that but no one likes to say so just before it.  OH found that the morphine helped a lot and the pain got better every day. In fact, a week later it was less painful that he thought it would be. He ached quite a bit after the exercises, but the physio told him he had been too enthusiastic about doing them. He had lost a lot of muscle after waiting over 3 years for the op.

We are going to stay a couple of nights with OH's daughter in Eastbourne on Sunday, then we get the ferry back to France on Tuesday. I have a bit more tidying to do in the garden.

Morning all, good to see you @punkdoc, I remember the pain always seemed to be worse when lying down at night, you will find it much easier when they get you up and into a chair.
A hot day today but only for today thankfully.
Had a letter from HMRC saying I am due a refund, pretty sure it is a scam!

Glad to hear the op is over @punkdoc Hopefully you will get some help with the pain relief so you can get some rest today before they will be asking you to hop up on your feet for a walk around the ward. Best wishes for a steady recovery from now on.

The wind and rain seems to have arrived here in Wales with a forecast of it getting worse over the next few hours so I think a day of pottering around indoors will be called for.

Should have said it’s a relief! Terrified of general anaesthetics, so my first thought has always been happy that I’d survived it. Hope they get Punkdoc’s pain relief sorted soon though.

Morning all, sorry to hear that you had a sleepless night @punkdoc, sure that the medics will make you more comfortable this morning.

It's pouring down with rain now and likely to do so all day so not sure what we'll be doing. I'm letting OH have a lie-in as he didn't get home till midnight after a long drive.
He's come home with two jars of raspberry jam and a big bag of gooseberries from his brother who has an allotment. Trouble is, we hardly eat jam these days as we don't eat much bread. I'll make a crumble with the gooseberries ready for my brother's visit.

I'm hoping to be fit enough to go to my old college friend's funeral on Monday as I think my brother will be out all day at his grandson's graduation celebrations.
