  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Wall to wall blue sky this morning … and we’re listening to a pair of quarrelsome magpies accompanied by a blackbird repeating the beginning of Beethoven’s Fifth over and over again … it sounds totally bonkers!

Today there’ll be some watering and weeding, and a quick trip to the farm shop.

Talking of watering … our butts are empty … we have no choice but to water the blueberries with our very hard Norfolk water and cross our fingers. I’m thinking that the best we can do is repot in fresh ericaceous compost when the butts are full again … if the bushes are still alive then.
We've had to start watering with tap water too. Butts finally emptied yesterday - although we don't have blueberries. Tried, without success.

It's the sparrows that have woken me up.

Good to hear that your son is doing so well, after all he's been through. You must be so relieved.

Thanks @rowlandscastle444 … thing is, because of their work my son and most of his mates tend to be night owls … I’m going to struggle not to lie awake listening for the sound of his car when he goes out … it’ll be like having a seventeen year old all over again! 🙄

    Morning all,

He's done so well @Dovefromabove, he must be so pleased to be independent again.

Beautiful day here in Paris. 😎

Enjoy @D0rdogne_Damsel … we had a marvellous week in Paris with Norwich art school during our first year 😎

Morning all. What wonderful news Dove, Rob has made such amazing progress, a strong and determined man I think - a chip off the old block (with apologies for the word old)?
Have a wonderful visit in Paris with Charlie DD, lovely picture of you both.
Hazy sunshine here this morning but at least we have a warm breeze after the really cold one lately. Waiting to see if the forecasted thunderstorms and RAIN actually arrive over the weekend - no rain here for weeks now and boy do we need some.
    Have a lovely weekend forkers.

    Good morning,

a beautiful blue sky here this morning, not a cloud in sight and the niggly breeze seems to have eased off considerably for now, (though still there). We are forecast a hot weekend, with the possibility of thunder storms tomorrow afternoon, but as they are going to be localised, we may not get one. (The garden could really do with a soaking, though).

Today will just be a pottering day, I think, and perhaps just enjoy the garden by sitting out in it rather than work in it, other than water the pots later.

Good news indeed about Rob @Dovefromabove. He is making remarkable progress.

A lovely photo of you and Charlie @D0rdogne_Damsel. Enjoy your day in Paris.

Right, I’d better finish my cuppa and then get dressed ready to face the day.

Pea and Ham Soup tonight.  I haven’t made it for a long time, but Hubby bought a hock so I had to scratch my head and remember what I needed to make it again.   The recipe was from my lovely late Danish MIL from long ago. Brings back memories both good and unpleasant. She was lovely; pity her son didn’t follow her personality and behaviour. 😒

    Morning all.

It’s a blue sky situation here again but there is a weather warning for thunder/rain later. I’ve been using tap water the last week or two. I have two water butts but the second has a hose to the pond so I might clamp that off if we get decent rain so I’ll have plenty for my plants (cue NO rain or the end of the dry spell, now I’ve said that!).

    Have a lovely weekend all.

    Hello Forkers

got up early and at 7 I was deadheading roses and weeding. Then a lovely cuppa on the balcony brought by OH who is now cooking lunch while I am on dinner duty.

It is great to hear about Rob @Dovefromabove, his family has been amazing. Our blueberries were watered with tap water last year and they survived, I did mulch with leafmould. I have very little rainwater left, so when that is gone they have to make do with the tap.

What a lovely photo @D0rdogne_Damsel, enjoy beautiful Paris.

Pea and ham soup @Pat E, truly autumnal dish.

Be in good spirits one and all.
