A very good morning to the occupier of the CA and all arriving later. Gorgeous start to the morning so, like Biglad, I am looking forward to some time in the garden.
I agree with you Hazel, about the uninspiring TV last night. I went to read after watching Chelsea. Brace yourself - 23 is on his way!
Hope today goes smoothly Debs. I think it is hilarious about the great escaper and I learned something new this morning - I didn't know that tortoises ate slugs. Perhaps those who are missing our lovely native hedgehogs should invest in a tortoise! I reckon you have got a ninja there.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I cannot begin to say how distressed I was hearing about the death of that 10 month old baby at the hands of his parents. Those sentences, in my view are just not long enough. How could anyone treat a tiny, helpless baby like that? Sorry, just had to vent.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone .LB ,it beggars belief what some people are capable of . It makes you feel sick to your stomach. My OH is comfortable in hospital . I am hoping that he will be home in a few days .We speak regularly and he is in good spirits.
I had a busy day in the garden yesterday. Finishing weeding, feeding and mulching the raspberries. Then I extended the orchard bed, followed the orchard fence around the corner to the donkey paddock. That will make mowing around the corner easier. Had to dig up that bit of lawn, dig it and add a lot of compost, clay soil.
It will be another hot day. I'll plant the unknown yellow rose against the donkey fence and the campanula glomerata and geranium Expresso. Then I'll take it easy, ache a bit after yesterday.
Tonight we are babysitting for Son 2, 5 small children, overnight until tomorrow afternoon when they return from Venice. Their 2 childminders looked after the children the other days but can't do Saturday night or Sunday.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Great sadness I heard the report.  Spoke to Dad on the phone this morning sounds like he’s being well looked after with the morphine and the IV.  I was rolling in pain yesterday it came on before 6am and lasted until about 4am this morning and I kept vomiting with the pain.  None the wiser what it was just ache now, much relieved.  There are some very strange things.   Hazel I’m sure 23 will enjoy granny and grandpas company and look forward to seeing the bean planted and may be look out when it goes to sleep.  LB I very much hope that you are being relieved of pain now.  Busy enjoy the babysitting.  Lilys tv today.  Debs I didn’t know Graham would be partial to meat, not purely vegetation.  Rosie
Good afternoon all. Well, it has been a marvellous gardening day today. I managed to get more plants into their permanent positions and I think I have finally decided where to place my huge pot for the rose. I managed to order some compost too so it shouldn't be too long until the rose is in it's permanent home. Despite all the rain I have had, there are pockets of my garden where the soil is as dry as dust - just like sand in fact. I puddled in all of the plants I transferred and fingers crossed they will be fine. Both my water butts are almost empty so I might have to resort to my outdoor tap tomorrow.
Rosie, that is good news about your Dad but I'm sorry to read that you have not been too well. Let's hope it has worked its way out of your system - whatever it was. My back still niggles at times - usually when I have been too busy in the garden but I do listen to the warnings and then ease off.

Enjoy your evenings all of you - I suspect Hazel and Busy will be exhausted tomorrow but it will be a fun tiredness after entertaining the small people. I am signing out for tonight so will see you all tomorrow.

Hazel, OH isn't up to long walks yet.
