I'm one of 4 children and 2 sisters did washing up, drying and putting away leaving my brother and I to vacuum and dust and that's how I know about skirting boards.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Hope everyone’s feeling rested. Its a bright and sunny morning here … a dry day at least to pop along to your local polling station and cast your vote for whichever candidate you believe has the interests of your community at heart … I have a postal vote so I’ve already done it, but I’ll be taking son along and helping him into the Polling Station … at the local Mormon Church … an ‘interesting’ place. 😉 Not bringing politics onto this thread … vote whichever way you think best … but we have no grounds for complaint if we don’t vote 😶
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Good morning everyone. May the Fourth be with you!!
Sunny and bright with a bit of a sea breeze.
The hip pain got so unbearable yesterday that I had to rummage around the medicine cupboardI have found some anti-inflammatory tablets. Apparently, my chemist will sell more over the counter to tide me over. I have to see a GP for a prescription as she won't prescribe without consultation, which is in 10 days time. What a palaver!! At least I can manage the pain.
We've only had leaflets from one of the political parties (I won't say which one). It's a shame really, because I like to hear from everyone. Our polling is in a Methodist Church.
OH has sent his postal vote. I'm not allowed to vote, I vote in France.
I have a long handled feather duster for skirting boards for when my back aches.
Yesterday we went to the plant nursery and I bought a trolley full of plants of a good size for only 4€20 each. Spent the rest of the day weeding and planting half of them in the orchard bed. More of the same today.
The roses were already there, planted them last year. The orchard behind was mown once, has daffodils in it, now it will be left until late summer.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning everyone, looking great Busy-Lizzie. No election round here so can't do anything about the ones in charge at the moment. Off to Capel Manor today, see you all later.
Well done for voting. It is important. Here the vote is obligatory, but I never heard of anyone being fined.
I spent the morning shopping and prepared some beds for kale and chard. I planted a chilli plant that I bought yesterday, I am new to chillies. We'll see.
Sorry you are in pain @tui34. Ten days is a long time to wait, I hope you manage the pain with what you have at home.
I voted on the way to the paper job. ID checking seemed to be going swimmingly, the Clerk was doing it on the way in so easy-peasy. Can't quite see what all the fuss was about it. OH went down later after he'd done another Covid test, fortunately negative again so texted DIL who's coming to stay tonight. Warm enough to open most of the windows for a good blow through, sheets on the washing line and another load in the machine. I'm keeping an eye on the weather as we're forecast a heavy shower later this afternoon.
Glad to say I don't ache today as much as I thought I might. I use Voltarol gel on the achey joints which usually works well for me. Sorry your hip is giving you so much pain @Tue34, hope the medication kicks in soon.
Your garden's looking great @Busy-Lizzie and so tidy! Puts mine to shame. I recently split quite a few perennials but not sure where I going to put them all if they 'take'.
Keep meaning to ask @chicky, how's chicklet doing in New Zealand? Hope she's enjoying the travelling. We've been enjoying the Race in Canada on TV, beautiful scenery and such friendly people.
Hope Rob enjoys his little outing @Dovefromabove. My son had his first physio session yesterday following his foot operation. The wound is healing well and he's been told he can occasionally, very gently, put that foot on the ground. He has exercises to do of course although they are painful at the moment.

Off to the theatre tonight to see one of the National Theatre screenings - David Tennant is in it but don’t know much more than that …..

Me still nothing from last Friday's test.
Be safe and have a good rest of the day.
