Thanks for starting off May thread for us, Dove. Spring is well on its way here, part of the garden has turned into a mini bluebell wood, although it may well be swamping my single rhubarb plant. It might be easier to move that, than try and clear back the bluebells.
So sorry you are feeling so bad, Punkdoc, but I wouldn’t let it stop you posting. It’s sometimes good to have a decent moan to virtual friends when you don’t want to overload loved ones.
Great to hear of your travel plans with and for Charlie, Damsel. So much to look forward to.
    Take care, all.

Evening all, forgot to post earlier, been gardening all day and boy do I ache tonight!

As it was warmer today I finally got round to sowing runner beans and dwarf French Beans. Came inside for lunch and promptly read that the RHS recommended to wait until the end of May before sowing seeds as it's been so cold - oops. Oh well too late now, they're sitting in the spare bedroom. Had a disaster early evening whilst I was watering some pots - the waterbutt tap broke off and I had to watch 200 litres of water run away, it would have to be my biggest water butt of course.

I saw the news about the Southwold fire and immediately thought of Busy-Lizzie and Dove as I knew they visited frequently, such a shame.

What a nuisance about the freezer @Hostafan1. And running out of oil again!

Sorry to hear you're still poorly @punkdoc.

The brick path sounds good @chicky. I think I made a mistake siting my potting table under a big tree as I have to keep it covered all the time (pigeon poo!!!). I may have to think of moving the logstore there instead.

Think I'll have an early night, I'm yawning my head off.

Just popped in to say goodnight.  I read about the Southwold fire - just awful!  All the buildings along there (and many of the boats) are wooden, so it could have been much worse.

    Lovely pictures of bluebells.

Made the most of our two days of sunshine and finally got the veg patch weeded and the potatoes in.  As I was doing it I could hear my Dad saying - you're far too late and you are doing it all wrong.  But the robin didn't mind.  And hopefully I'll be able to get a bit more gardening in during the week.

Hope all who are feeling under the weather/cold/anxious about anything at all get a good night's sleep.  Night night.

Morning all. A fine sunny day here and about 18c.

I’ve got a FaceTime appt with the Endocrinologist this morning. He generously saved me having to drive up to Canberra. I’ll be keen to hear what he thinks after my last pathology test. 🤔

we might even be able to get some more firewood sorting out this afternoon since there is heavy rain predicted for the rest of the week.

    Morning all.

    That's good news @Pat E.

The family have all left for work and school. We are having coffee in bed and will drive home to Dordogne this morning, via Leclerc SM.

It should be 21C and sunny this afternoon. I may make a start on the vegetable garden. I wonder how tall the weeds are.

Your seeds will be fine @Lizzie27 as they are indoors.

    Good morning everyone!!

Welcome home @Busy-Lizzie   Yes, we are expecting nice weather after a bit of a funny "spring" weekend.  The hot stuff is yet to come!!

My tomato seedlings are growing a bit too fast at the moment, so I need to put them outside in a sheltered spot - still lots of wind here.  I don't want to put them into the ground until after mid-May.  The nights are pretty cool here.

Some weeding maybe today.  But the ground is so dry and hard, the weeds just break.  Digging is impossible too.  We had a good shower Friday night, so Saturday morning, I decided to dig over a small bed.  The spade only went in about 4 inches!!

    Have a pleasant day all!!
