Well done @war garden 572 you've managed to unite people of all opinions regarding the coronation.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Waste of money . Shrug shoulders
I didn't see his name on the ballot when I voted today.
  • Excited. Can't wait
I like your recipe for Maryland Fried Chicken, @war garden 572 .  Doesn't look to be too hard to make so I might well give it a go sometime, although I'm not too sure I'll be able to source two month old very fat chickens ... maybe a bit too specific (and maybe a bit too expensive !).
Not too sure about the gravy and your recommended accompaniments.  To me they sound a bit 'white', a bit 'bland', if you know what I mean.  Shouldn't be too difficult to think of something to cheer it up though.
When there's always biscuits in the tin, where's the fun in biscuits ?

Winston_The_Gravity_Man  as for small chicken you can just use 5-6lbs bird or
cornish hens. the  reason i did not a mention a non starch side dish is because
those tended to be regional and seasonal before the 1950's when chicken
maryland was a common dish in homes and restaurants here.
if want know what those dishes tended to be
I suggest you read the blog on historical maryland cookery.

ps I do not write that blog but met you young women who does.

The front cover of Private Eye made me smile. It was along the lines of ‘Man wearing hat sits on chair’.

Thank you, @war garden 572 , I shall take a look.  I'd never have guessed that Historical Maryland Cookery was even a 'thing', but then I suppose everywhere has it's own local traditions and specialities.  In the UK we're so used to being told about our unique local dialects and accents and ways of doing things that we (well, me anyway) tend to forget that other countries have them too.

Winston_The_Gravity_Man  though the USa has a shorter history being bigger
it have lots of regional differences this has to a large number of regional and
many variations on same dish. for example there are over 30 variations on
pizza and more 50 topping variation of a hot dog. Usa food is just as varied
and regional as UK depending on the dish.

    on side note coronation quiche.

looks more like tart or pie to me.
since the french only consider quiche lorraine to be the
    only real quiche.

Interested enough to watch It on TV
Oooh,a right royal punch-up going on on this thread (no pun intended,) thanks Dove. I am so sorry that a particular posters comments have hit a very raw nerve with you at this awful stressful time. ❤️‍🩹. I know that the next monarch is announced a month following the death of the previous. My neighbour (you all know about) made an appointment for tomorrow, claimed that we have only just been given the coronation date.
