I love race across the world. I didn't have high hopes about this series. All in one ( vast ) country, so no border crossing to deal with ,and pretty much everyone speaks English, so not much in the way of language barriers. I have to say, I'm loving it . Canadians just seem such lovely people.
I used to meet a lot of Canadians when we had Winter holidays in the Caribbean, it was a much shorter trip for them, and I agree they did seem lovely, always really pleased if you knew they were not American.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

My duaghter met lots on her travels in S America. She asked why they always had a maple leaf flag on their backpacks " so folk don't think we're american "
Morning all, hope today's hospital visit goes well @Dovefromabove. We'e also enjoying Race across the World, first time we have watched it. At least you'll be keeping busy @chicky. You're such a good neighbour @Busy-Lizzie. Visits to France will be so much easier now for your OH. We're looking forward to more active holidays as well. I was amazed to see my C.Armandii earlier this is the side facing the neighbours in the road above us so I don't see this side often. It's really spectacular this year and the perfumes gorgeous.
Afternoon all, The past few days have been a bit of a whirlwind. Spent most of them with Secondborn and the boys. The London trip was really good. The trains were all on time, the Natural History Museum was a big hit although we didn't get to see the new big dinosaur apparently you had to book tickets separately which I didn't realise, we could have gone in if we had been prepared to buy membership but we didn't have £60 each to spare so the boys were a bit disappointed. We did have a great trip on the open topped bus and the weather was amazing, blue skies all the way. The only blip was the fact that we had to run (yes I said run) for the Euston train on the way back. My body has gone into shock and I reckon its going to take a few more days to recover. I have done a little bit of gardening today, transferred some plants into the greenhouse, treated the back lawn and got ready to sow some more seeds. While Firstborn was at Uni we had a couple of scary moments. One when she phoned me in the middle of the night to say someone was being sexually attacked on the bonnet of her metro. I told her to call the police and stay inside. The second was when she kindly phoned to inform me that a dismembered body had been found in bin liners at the back of the takeaway she used. It got no better when she moved to London and phoned to say she couldn't get into her back gate as someone had been stabbed and the police had erected a tent. Everytime I just wanted to get in the car and fetch her home. Hope the hospital trip goes OK Dove and a Happy Birthday to Wonky.
Glad you enjoyed the London trip @Yviestevie, pity about the NHM though, sounds very expensive. I had thought we might venture up to see the new dinosaur at some point. Haven't run for a train for years, actually haven't been on a train for years!
Sounds like some really hairy moments for your daughter and for you. Enjoy your gardening, I'm really hoping for better weather tomorrow.
@Busy-Lizzie, Hampton Court trip sounds good. My friend has just booked us to go Malvern Flower Show at the end of May which I'm looking forward to.
@Yviestevie, such a shame about NHM. We were there last month. My daughter booked a timed entry slot to see the dinosaur online the day before, free of charge.

I got so fed up waiting for folk to turn up, I cut them down myself. Saved £100 and a nice bonfire to look forward to tomorrow
