Evening all, we've had quite a nice day, met friends in their Austins and motored over to Bowood Bluebell gardens near Calne in Wiltshire. Very pretty, although a bit early for the bulbs and also the rhodos, although some were stunning. Will post pics on Garden Visits thread later. When we parked up, our friends told us we had no brake lights showing which was rather a worry so we took the longer quieter route home. Think a fuse blew when OH had to blow the horn! Had a cuppa when we got back then I promptly fell asleep in the armchair for well over an hour. Didn't get the alarm anyway.
That's a great pity about your trip @punkdoc, hope you feel better soon.
My friend, who I was going to meet up tomorrow for a GC trip has just phoned to say she's tested positive for Covid - after all this time not having caught it. Says she feels okayish, just a bit under the weather. Think it was nearly two weeks ago since we last met so am probably in the clear - hopefully.
I hate nose rings @Ergates and not that fond of tattoos either. I always wonder what they'll look like when their 80 or 90.
Morning everyone. No clouds and the temps on veranda and in here are 24.6 and 15.7 - I think I should move out there but curled up in front of the morning Tele news. My regular Dr visit this afternoon.
Sometimes, not often, I have my coffee and porridge in bed, especially during the cold dark winter months, lovely and cosy.
I much prefer these lighter mornings though, happy to get up and out when the sun is shining.
Dealing with a slow puncture (again) at the moment, the chap here is very kind and squeezed me in without an appointment.
Charlie has downloaded an application and has been showing me how to draw plans for the new garden and house, he can do amazing things with it, 3D imaging, real life imaging, and it flicks between drawings and the Google images of the actual garden, all the boundaries visible too. He just clicks away on the mouse. Impressive as it is, I know I'll never work it out myself so he's promised to do it all with me. Bless him. He is also designing a little terrace area and a better way of keeping the gravel in the steps, the wood currently being used is rotting away. He's so very excited, I do hope we get the keys soon.
Hope your son gets out a bit today @Dovefromabove, any idea how long before he can become independent again and start to look for his own place?

Good morning everyone, damp but getting brighter for now. I spent a lot of the day yesterday in the greenhouse, moving things sowing more seeds etc. I know it's late for seed sowing but with these cold nights we can't move things out permanently. Frost is forecast agin tonight, hopefully it will warm up soon. Hope all with ills and other frustrations get a resolution soon.
Wish me luck. Preparation for scintigraphy starts today. I have to go the hosp for the first injection of Thyrogen, then another one tomorrow. I was ok until last night when I started having very negative thoughts and had to take a sleeping pill.
@D0rdogne_Damsel how lovely that Charlie is planning the garden, again fingers crossed for both of you.
I am really sorry @punkdoc. Scotland won't move at least it's what I tell myself.
I reckon that I can move the seedlings out on Thursday when the nights here seem to get warmer @Allotment Boy.
Good luck, @coccinella. Sounds like you will have a busy week to and from the hospital. Hope you don’t have to travel too far, and that it all comes back clear.
Just back from my pre op assessment for undercarriage repair in two weeks. The worst bit was getting to the hospital for 9am, 20 minute journey took 45 minutes, and luckily OH drove me in, so he was able to manoeuvre into the ludicrously small parking spaces and wait in the car to dissuade others from bashing the sides with their doors. No wonder my blood pressure was much higher than normal! Have stopped for coffee and cake on the way home, need to replenish the blood after all the tubes of it they filled!

7C here and damp … hope your visit to the doctor goes well @Pat E.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We must get up soon, having coffee in bed. OH has an appointment with his surgeon this morning.

BT Open Reach are here. They've drilled a hole in the sitting room wall and have been up ladders with cables.
