    Evening everyone.

The rain has set in, but at least it stayed away for a few hours gardening earlier.

Just making the Saturday curry (chicken and sweet potato) so will be settling down with that and a Nordic Noir later.

I hope you are all doing ok and the weekend has brought smiles from something - weather(?), company, a treat, or even just a good tune on the radio.

That's a lovely garden @Hostafan1. We've visited a few times and met Alan Gray, one of the owners. I'm glad they are leaving it to "Perennial". We've also been to Fullers Mill, the other garden mentioned, a couple of times, which is owned by Perennial and kept very well. It's an RHS partner garden so I get in free.

We are back from the country fair, having stopped at the community pub on the way home.

I said Show this morning I think, but it was a Country Fair. There were lots of stalls with country clothing, even plus fours! Thought they went out with the ark. Loads of food and drink stalls, machinery, and everything you could possibly want for your dog. There was horse boarding, scurry racing (ponies with carts), dog competitions and races, a cookery tent etc. It was fun. We had a really nice chicken tandoori with rice and salad for lunch and I had a pint of Pimms and OH had a pint of cider. Good thing there were plenty of loos! We had Mr Whippy ices with chocolate flakes too.

  • What a lovely story @Hostafan1 🙂

Sounds like a perfect day @Busy-Lizzie.

I took Charlie to see my new house today (if the sale ever gets completed 🙄). He loved it and has so many plans to help me with the garden.

I did notice some lovely plants coming through, lots of beautiful flowering shrubs, blossom trees and a fabulous clematis. Had another nice chat with the neighbour, Alain. So pleased Charlie is being so supportive, and great to see him enthusiastic about the project.

We just need that dotted line signing off now. 🤞

What a marvellous legacy … I love that garden … it’ll be such a privilege to be able to continue  to visit it 💚

That's great news @Hostafan1, I've always wanted to visit that garden and had hoped to do so last year when we visited Norfolk but ran out of time.

Glad you had such a nice time at the Show @Busy-Lizzie. I'm looking forward to going to Malvern in a few weeks time.

Fingers crossed @D0rdogne_Damsel, it's got to happen soon.

York Gate is another garden run by Perennial, which we visited and loved. Got chatting with the Head Gardener and he gave me some plants and we have stayed in touch.
It is a great charity which looks after gardeners who have fallen on hard times.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Looks like a mild but dampish day here today … it’s already 12C

A lazy Sunday planned … a slowly pot-roasted brisket joint (done in the slow cooker) for supper with roast potatoes, parsnips and spring cabbage … and lots of horseradish sauce and onion gravy.  Otherwise we’ll chat, watch a bit of the marathon and probably knit 🧶

@Busy-Lizzie, what is horse boarding? My twisted mind was trying to conjure up something like water boarding, but far worse!

    Afternoon all.

Managed a couple of hours in garden and now the rain has arrived on cue. Oh! It’s hail!

I’ll have that horrible ‘back to school’ feeling later as been off all week. Roast dinner and Great Expectations will numb the pain.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday folks.
