Hazel, 😂😂😂. I had a good laugh with your post about height.
LB, I also love terracotta pots, and those on photo was a real bargain, but few years ago.
After grey and rainy morning, we finally have sun. Never mind its's almost bedtime. I found many lovely things at GC, mostly seeds, and few flowers. Also my sweet potatoes seedlings arrived and they look nice and healthy. Now is time for dinner and rest.
Evening Ante. I am so pleased that at last we have sun (me too today). It is certainly very cheery. I have also noticed that the sky - when I could see the 'blue' - since Easter has been crisscrossed with vapour trails. I have an app on my phone that tells me where they are all going. Its fascinating.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
@Ante1, you just wait until it happens to you lol!😂 ( do men shrink though like women?🧐) Lovely pics and you've had a successful trip to GC. Plenty to keep you busy. LB, Topbird, I haven't worn a dress for many many years. Trousers and joggers for me too.
Human dynamo has been and gone. Bit quiet at first having been at school all day, but we soon knocked that out him.....😂 We had a run around the house and played a couple of game of Pelmansism and 23 was soon back to normal🙂
LB, the bird cherry sounds delicious, the scent must cheer the postman up when he comes calling!
@debs, don't worry about the clothes sizes. I reckon something is going on in the sizing department. Whoever decides these sizes, they are not comparable with our sizing in the UK. I still have a blouse that I bought from M and S back in the day. I never wear it now, it's worn out,( but I still keep it in a drawer ). It was a size 12 back in the 70's-80's. Comparing that to sizes from now, it equates to a size 16.Also, depending on where you buy clothes from, we can be one size in one shop and then two sizes bigger in another shop! Crazy. I tend to shop in the places where I'm a smaller size..........🙄🤭😂
Your hanging baskets sounds really nice, different but bet they smell lovely when grown. Good idea about the other baskets too. We are due for some more rain from tomorrow after a lovely sunny day today. Typical.
I wear jeans most of the time but when it's hot in summer I wear a dress. I like Seasalt dresses, comfortable, cotton, have sleeves and are sensible lengths.
We went to the plant nursery this morning and I bought a trolley full of plants, good value at around £4 each, 1 litre pots. Then I spent some time gardening. Have weeded and planted the orchard border with the yellow roses in it. Very stiff now.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well done Busy. A trolley load of plants sounds just wonderful🙂Bet you have a good time getting them all in the ground but don't overdo it. Your orchard of roses sounds lovely. We went to our local garden place, this morning, family run, they are very small but their prices are really cheap but the plants are superb. We came away with some more plants too🤭 We were there the other day too and bought a lovely looking clematis, called Destiny. Signing off for today. Night all.
@Songbird-2 I knew I'd shrunk when getting something off a shelf which I used to do with ease. As for clothes, Sainsbury's Tu size 12 fits fine but M&S is baggy.
I have clothes from different brands which are a size 12, size 14 and a size 16 in my wardrobe and they all fit. Drives me mad that sizes are so non-standard.
I have a quilted body warmer and quilted jacket from Patagonia, both of which I love because they are very warm and very slim fitting - not bulky at all. What I hate about both of them is the size label - which reads XL.
I'm definitely not a skinny minny and could do to shed a stone or so. But I'm not a big girl - definitely don't deserve to be described as extra large! 😂
Feeling down, low, cross and irritated in equal measure. At 6pm went to turn on the electric induction hob to start dinner, and absolutely zilch - dead as a door nail. Why? it was working perfectly on the night we left - what's happened while we've been away?. Tried checking the fuse (which involved emptying a whole cupboard) but the fuse was fine so we probably need new hob (they're not really repairable). It's a big 90cm one set into the granite worktop so it will have to be replaced with another that is the exact same dimensions. And it's a bank holiday...
So I'm back to cooking on a camping stoves for the forseeable future 🤬
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hazel I’ve dropped half an inch in height. LB Alfie tried the food really tucking in (gobbling) and then ….. so I hope his tummy settles. It’s lovely to take in all the new growth. Makes you feel alive. Topbird how frustrating. Thank goodness for the camping stove. Hazel your stories of 23 make me smile. LB I hope you’re feeling a little more comfortable.
