Morning all- just. Currently sitting waiting at the hairdressers for a haircut then an afternoon doing not very much.Ā
It started raining last night and still at it now. Itās getting as bad as round LB area! the birds are out too, scratting about at the edge of the borders, sending soil all over the paths which canāt be brushed back as itās so wet.Ā
Debs, hope you have a great break for next week. Just what you need.Ā
@Topbird, have you managed to get anything sorted with your oven?Ā
Afternoon all. Ā Scrubbing the bathroom sink trying to get rid of a dye stain much less now, will keep at it, nearly gone. Ā I donāt know where itās come from I donāt dye my hair. Ā Hazel hope you love your hair. Ā Ante cartoon, they may think that. Ā LB it was raining when I went outside around 6am, light though. Ā Debs enjoy your days off. Ā Having a lay down, didnāt get a wink of sleep. Ā
Rosie,, have you tried putting some bleach around the sink basin and leaving it for half an hour? That might bring the stain out. Pouring down here but hair cut and feels much better. I've seen some houses all decked out with flags and bunting ready for tomorrow. I've put out three small flags at front of house but might sneak in a couple of bigger flags amongst the planter𤫠Not much going on in the town though.
It tipped with rain in the night. We were just about to go to the market this morning when an old friend who I used to go horseriding with rang to say she was in the area. So we got out of the car and spent the morning together instead. She's just left. There was a lot to catch up on.
I'm going to the Doctor this afternoon, follow up from the tummy pains I had in Norfolk that the 111 doctor thought was diverticulitis.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Is anyone else having the same problem as we are? Our compost, whether in bags or in pots, never seemsĀ to dry out. In fact, the compost is is almost wet and forms a ball if moulded in your hands. I'm wondering if it's old stuff but it's just been stored in shed and greenhouse as we normallyĀ do and despite sometimes the greenhouse reaching temperatures ( sometimes) of 40 degrees , the potted on seedlings never need watering due to wet compost. It's most odd.Ā
Afternoon all. Torrential rain, hail and thunder storms this afternoon. Not a pleasant drive up to Norfolk & Norwich hospital where OH has to have a stress ECG this year for his aviation medical. Two lots of major roadworks and nightmare parking meant a 1 hr journey actually took nearly 2hrs. Fortunately we left nearly 3 hrs and I'm sat with coffee and a coronation cup cake in the cafe.
Sorry to hear you've had ear problems Rubee - that can be very painful.
Loved your cartoon Ante - I'd hate to know what cats are really thinking when they give us one of 'those' looks. As affectionate as they can be, I'm still not sure that we humans are really considered to be much more than their personal domestic staff!
Re the kitchen hob - it's officially as dead as a Norwegian Blue. (Ante - Monty Python parrot sketch from way before you were born!).
Fortunately one of OH's ex-students is a sparky and he popped round early yesterday morning and did some thorough testing. Nothing wrong with circuits / wiring etc but the unit is just dead. Apparently it's a known thing with induction hobs and (as it's all factory sealed with lots of circuit boards etc) Ā there's no real way to repair it. At least we know it's not just a fuse / loose connection etc.
So I've ordered a new one (thats £1600 I didn't know I was spending!) and it should be arriving next Wednesday. L will come and fit it asap.
On the plus side it could have happened on 22nd December...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Hazel, sorry can't help, because I never had problem like that with compost. My problem is when it's dry mostly at summer time.
Today is first proper spring day. It's wonderful warm and sunny. Didn't go to to the cottage, but later I'll have chat and coffee with my neighbor.
