Wonderful roses coming through. I expect I can retire from posting soon, having hopefully fed the addiction for a while 😆
Assuming you are there to water them, I guess you have a longer window for bare roots where you are @ElbFee. I think it was you who said you have Vichy? I will have to wait for it to open properly but suspect yet another TCL nursery mix-up:
Same here @newbie77, I have managed to miss out on Twilight Zone for 2 years running now. It seems to sell out really fast. My Ebb Tide has improved since I lifted it and potted it up, although I still can’t describe it as a vigorous rose.
Thanks for the photos and excellent comparison @JessicaS, that’s decided it for me, Natalja/Evelyn Wylde is on the list!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
It's all breaking out... your Strawberry Hill is doing great Ciaran, you seem to be managing it very well..
'Mutabilis' .. Sorbus vilmorinii.. Lavender 'Anouk'.. Geranium cambridge varieties.. 'Tottering by Gently'.. Dry Garden.. Geranium 'Eureka'.. Geum 'Banana Daiquiri'.. Glandora 'Grace Ward'.. 'Desdemona'.. surely one of the best white roses..
I just realised "unique to Peter Beales" Rose Synactif by Shiseido is none other than the Rose du Petit Prince sold by Trevor White. I had both on my wishlist.🙄
@agnasia Regarding St. Ethelburga, it is still early days to form an opinion of that rose. I can only say that it has a nice fragrance (even to a smell-challenged me) based on my experience of the first flower
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
I have a beautiful climbing rose called ”Gloriana” I’m struggling with it as it’s not in the right place. I’ve put some branches to the side to encourage more flowers. It’s also growing very strong branches. The thorns are deadly I always manage to get poked by them. I would like to know if I pruned those new upright branches what would happen. Your advice would be most helpful. 😎
I have impulsively bought a Queen of Denmark from Trevor White. I plan to grow it over my shed. The soil is not good there, but albas seem to grow well anywhere. Perhaps I should have chosen one of the taller ones for this, but I think the QoD is the most beautiful of them.
^nice plant from Trevor.. and such a beautiful rose, large and bushy in habit.. I like your box hedges..
@Marisol Hello.. well I think your rose needs some support as it's something of a climber. You can cut those canes back to the rest of the plant but it will likely shoot straight up again.. lovely rose though isn't it..

@Busy-Lizzie how do you find the fragrance of Felicia..?
