Whole plant photo of ORA, now that the first flush is truly getting started for this rose. The flowers are quite big too, almost same size as Golden Celebration. Those on the sides are all looking downward. Other roses in the picture are Arthur Bell in the front and Lady of Shalott at the back.
Crown Princess Margareta
Vanessa Bell fully open today 😄
New this season - Newsflash ☺️ I like orange roses.
This is a cutting which I had plonked in sometime last year and pushed underneath a fruit tree. The label has since disappeared; waiting for the flower buds to open so that I can identify what it is. Not many thorns, so definitely not MW, which was another one I remember taking cuttings of.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Looking superb Marlorena. Kathleen Harropis another of those roses with curled back petals that form points, I need to choose one that does this. Do you deadhead Mutabilis? Seems like quite a task.
New roses coming on all the time now, hopefully for everyone.

Oh I don’t know @cooldoc, I think the fragrant rose growing community is pretty well served in the UK! I would love to be able to order some of those old Austins (and Lolabelle) from Trevor White and quite a few old rose classes wouldn’t cope with my climate. I envy your well-stocked garden centres, the ability to pick up great potted roses and the vast selection of perennials too. Swings and roundabouts..
William Shakespeare 2000, slightly lopsided but fab fragrance:
Very lax habit though, I need to prune harder next year:
Violet Hood is rather cute, early days but probably not a rose to set the world alight:
Excellenz von Schubert. A sweetly fragrant polyantha that didn’t cope at all well in last year’s heatwave, but I’m giving it another year. Looking not bad at the moment:
La Rose de Molinard has a reprieve because it’s replacement needs growing on first. Exquisite blooms and intoxicating fragrance, but only when conditions are dry. This is what happens after rain 😢
Mme. de Sévigné yesterday. This looks set to be my best bourbon to date. Large, highly fragrant blooms that shrug off both rain and sun:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@cooldoc What do you think of Trish/Capricia/One in a Million? You've had her for two years, right? How big is it now and how's the shape of the bush and health?
