Oh and I took delivery of two new bare rooted Peter Beale Roses today ( somebody very helpfully posted a link to their end of season sale on this threat ).
One procumbent “Kent” and a floribunda “Camille Pissarro”. Arrived very well packaged, still moist roots and very impressive root stock.
Hard to keep up with all the posts.. had a nice sunny but windy day here.. Anyone feel if Desdemona is quite bare at the base? should have hard pruned it this year..
Nice roses @Watsonia you'll have blooms before most of us I expect.. looking forward to seeing more of those..
I was surprised to find that Trevor White's have discontinued 'Paul's Scarlet Climber' one of the most popular red roses in recent decades.. and seen almost everywhere..
Well spotted @newbie77, that is indeed not my new Strawberry Hill but is my new (and 2nd) Winchester Cathedral! I don't know what happened to the photo of SH, will have to take another one.
@Alfie_ thank you! I will do that then and prune out the damaged bits once its flowered! Its Apple blossom mine is, with the pinky tone, excited for blooms!
I have a 'Pauls Scarlet' that I would like to relocate as it is in a spot that gets limited sun. Is this the wrong time to move it, as it does have a few tiny shoots forming? It was planted approx 3/4 years ago. tia
Delighted about 10l in 1 hour this
morning. Much better than last days constant but inefficient drizzle.
How about some spring on the screen? This is Keukenhof, NL.
@JessicaS, like your garden so much.
Contemplating now where to put an iron fence like yours.
@newbie77 , tx, tomato fertilizer is
ordered. Currently happy with my potted progess. Here is another
Hosta border for you. Slugs are around, but not too many. Lucky me. I
found 2 Kindergarten's of them and scissored away. You see the damage of the ones I missed. This year will be
a challenge. I am away as of Easter for 3 weeks.
All, tx for sharing your roses names.
Looking them all up. I still have lawn ;-). Also numerous ones in pots. Forgot who this is.
Don't have any tree seedlings but new
areas with aegopodium podagraria. Oh my.
Thanks @ElbFee for sharing the keukenhof photos. Also like your idea of adding the rose name before posting a photo (suits for forgetful people like me)
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth

those Tulips ElbFee
That Hosta pic gave me a rainforest vibe
@Watsonia is that a pup in your profile picture? Might need a bigger picture.
Loving the tulips! My Giuseppe Verdis are out today. Little but nice, particularly when they catch the sun.
