@Eustace I like your Aquilegias, I think I have a couple of those..
..suspended animation here.. too cold.. My Vilmorin Sorbus is full of flower clusters all over.. a wonderful small tree for tiny gardens with narrow borders.. autumn colour and berries later..
We can officially say that Aberdeen has now joined the race!
This appeared overnight and I am beyond excited. I know I only bought Gertrude Jekyll a couple of weeks ago, but she had no buds at the time and so I claim this as a small victory.
Apart from that, not much else happening, although perennials are establishing and will soon get into the swing - the 20ºc helps a lot too.
@Marlorena that desdemona is loaded. How old is it? Marie N is beautiful. What's this rose like?
Nothing new here. Overcast all day despite weather person promising afternoon Sun! No rain at least so installed the obelisk. Had to cut a few bits of the hawthorn back for it to fit in:
Went to Harkness today, lots of choice:
@WAMS they have your Chandos B standard you said you are after:
They have quite a few, maybe 15. Well priced for the potted standards at £35 compared to £65 for DA.
They had Chawton Cottage and Bridge of Sighs in full bloom which have come back from Chelsea:
Both had a really nice fragrance especially Chawton C despite it saying it is medium fragrance.
I asked about the new release roses @WAMS posted about and they are only available online and won't be sold here until next spring.
^all those roses !.. lucky to have Harkness so close to you @Alfie_
.. I've had 'Chawton Cottage'.. but not the other one..
'Desdemona' has been here 7 or 8 years .. I prune quite hard each year, it once grew for me as a small climber.. 'Marie Nabonnand' is just fabulous but no longer sold here.. Peter Beales used to offer it..
@Marlorena - thanks. Desdemona has always appealed to me as I quite like white roses and have very few. The only properly white one I have is Winchester Cathedral. How do you rate the Chawton Cottage?

We are about 2 weeks behind in my usually sunny corner of the south east.
'Desdemona'..
'Mutabilis' .. very much on the cusp..

Your obelisk is very nice, a good job done..
@Eustace your ORA is looking lovely.
@WAMS I seriously hope not!! For me I think it was just Desdemona but everything else was in full swing by the end of May.
@Nollie those roses are beautiful, I’m not the biggest fan of red but Darcy Bussell looks so lovely.
