    Is it well scented?  the foliage looks to be one of the Austin lines.. I would guess at 'William Shakespeare 2000'.. perhaps someone who has this rose could take a look?..

    @Marlorena, thanks, Penelope gets better every year, must be over 10 years old now. Recommended to me by Helen Yemm, a garden author who also used to write a garden column in the Telegraph.

    So many roses I like today... congratulations on those whose roses are only just opening, I know it's been a long and tiresome wait this Spring..  I have about 8 I'm yet to see a bloom on..

    @Lizzie27 I've heard of Helen Yemm, sometimes read her pages..  she's a nice writer about roses..   I've been to Rosemoor a few times..

    Your Wild Rover will purple up in time.. if you've only just received it, it's likely they've kept it in a polytunnel..
