@agnasia Oh gosh that label cracked me up.. doesn't that just prove beyond doubt they sent out 'Dannahue' as 'Elizabeth' last year.. I wonder how many .. it's almost an old fashioned farce..
Lovely pics, and glad you had a nice time.. 'James Galway' is fab..
@agnasia wonderful photos of your DA trip! The Desdemona in that pot is cracking. You left us on a cliffhanger - which rose did you buy in the end?
@pitter-patter how long did it take for your Chandos to look as grand as it does now? I already had two shrub Chandos’ but it was purely seeing your picture a few weeks ago that made me get it.
You really get me hooked to my phone, all this gorgeous roses coming in.
Eugène is a great rose far at the end of the garden. The colour shines. And the terrible blackspot is invisible. Downside is, you can't sniff it.
I was waiting for Jenny to reach this stage. Lovely colour play.
Eyes for you standard. Hm, not really visible among everything else and not very many buds. It is only in its second year. I am still hoping for growth.
Hi, @Alfie_. I only bought my Chandos Beauty standard (if that’s the one you mean) at the beginning of last year (I think). It doesn’t look that great this year, I haven’t pruned it enough and the flowers are very heavy. And it has black spot.
@ElbFee I know 'Eugene Furst'.. one of my fondest memories in growing old roses.. unfortunately it mildewed badly here, and as I don't spray, I couldn't keep it, although I keep wanting it back... I first 'met' 'EF' in 1986 and totally fell for it... delicious scent.. I naughtily picked a bloom from the bush in Mottisfont Rose Gardens, and took it home with me in the car..
@agnasia That 'BMS' is gorgeous, I'm really liking this rose although mine is only just starting.. they've obviously had it warmer than I have here.. thanks for the photo.. great shot of the Peacock..

It was really lovely and my daughter enjoyed sniffing them all with me. Such beautiful weather too. I think it will be even better in 2-3 weeks.

Desdemona was a definite stand out, every one I saw was blooming it’s socks off.
