Hello all, I'm a long time lurker on these threads and love seeing your gorgeous roses. I am a self confessed roseaholic, but sadly not one for doing things by the book, and Im terrible for cramming as many roses as possible into my garden! I simply can't ignore a bargain rose if I see one, and I need to learn more discernment! I will post some of the roses I have later, busy day ahead today. Luckily, roses being the forgiving creatures they are they still try their best, despite my erratic care. As for the use of 'gotten', it was widely in use in England at the time we left for the Americas, so I suppose you could say it is more gramatically correct historically, the Americans continued to use it, while the English changed to got. 😊
@helen.bates.47wRj8BZr- Hello.. looking forward to seeing your rose photos at some point, you will be very welcome. Please tell us which zone you are in, or part of the country if in U.S.
A somewhat unsung rose I would recommend to anybody for freedom of flower, easy to grow with healthy foliage that does not need a spray, and continuous bloom, is 'Scented Garden'.. it is yellow, semi double, sometimes with pinkish edges.. I regard it as a real find in my rose gardening life and wouldn't be without it..
Just to show how it is today, growing in my shadiest location as is evidenced in the photo, sun about 1 hour first thing, then none until late afternoon...
..and how it will be in 8 weeks.. ideal for a small obelisk..
@WAMS I think your my new favourite person, I hadnt spotted that post and as you know Ive been after that for ages so Ive now dived on it and made an order! Thank you so much, thats cheered up a lonngggg week!

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I've long since come to the conclusion that you're never 'done' with buying roses..
..but that goes for most of us..
