@Alfie_ Yes excellent health, but it's a rose I think only available within the E.U. these days..
I used to have 'Chawton Cottage' but it black spotted a bit too much for me.. otherwise quite a nice rose, pleasant scent like you said... it might have got better with age.. It looks clean in this photo..
At least there is Marie Nabonnand looking fabulous Marlorena. Mine is still a tiny plant so I may grow on for a season in a pot. It’s had half a dozen blooms but no fragrance to speak of yet. One that needs the full three years to show what it can do, I expect.
Hopefully not too much of a wait for everyone for the roses now. I fear I’m actually peaking too early after the freak heat in April. OH was hoping the roses would be in glorious bloom for her friends coming in mid June. I’m sure I can still rustle up a reasonable display.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Busy day in the garden. Looks like the
driest May ever. Schlepped water to all roses again. Then I did some
serious leg room clean-up but not around.
And made a dent in the slug
population. Made a dent in my ego, too, golfing after 7 months break.
I hope, my game recovers faster than the slug population.
This is still work, not in progress.
Yes, there are roses in there.
No blooms at all. Most excited about
discoveries like this at the moment. Although Dr. Scrotum does not
even react to water infusions. Another goner it seems.
I am with you @PeterAberdeen. Buds are
all I have. At least my timing might be better than Nollie's because
my garden ladies from my prior forum visit on June 9.
@agnasia that Bridge of Sighs looks incredible!! Lovely that you got it on memory of your Aunt. Please share photos when it’s in flower! How do you find that rose? The foliage doesn’t look that bad in the picture.
@WAMS - that Chandos standard definitely has your name on it 😆
Liking the look of your Blush Noisette @Nollie. Think it might be a good choice to brighten up this corner. I'm sure your game will get better @ElbFee. Like our roses, it just needs some sunshine and a little attention...
A warm sunny day.. how best to enjoy it other than sniffing these..
La France.. have a mild scent, not opened yet.. been like this for ages..
Munstead wood.. in the morning it was not as scented as Gertrude.. by afternoon it was stronger than GJ for me...
GJ pic is not included as the bloom was a deformed one.. hope it will produce better blooms soon.. yet it had a strong old rose fragrance.. Munstead was a bit complex than GJ in its fragrance..

My bridge of sighs isn’t too far behind theirs, I just wish my foliage was as healthy.
