My looks exactly like that Tack..🤔 does the prickles on your WS2000 match mine? What ticked me off was the scent not being strong as mentioned by Nollie.. may be a mild scent.. will see how it goes with the next blooms..
@SalixGold I like Sweet Honey, it doesn’t have much of a fragrance, but it’s a very healthy rose with a good habit and beautifully shaped flowers. It starts flowering a bit later than other roses (mine has just started), but the amount of flowers is very high. It doesn’t flower continuously; it takes a break between flushes.
Hiya @Tack I don't grow WS2K but my recollection from an earlier comparison between Nollie's WS and Falstaff which I do, your glorious red, and presumably that of @cooldoc also, looks different in bloom form and colour? What say you @Nollie?
So many beautiful roses. I'm reading but not commenting much in between looking after ill ( extended) family and trying to battle the vine weevil infestation -- must have squashed over a hundred adults in the last 3 days. I do use the nematodes but must have had a bad batch last couple of times.
Having been away from home for the weekend I have returned to find a few roses newly opened - I think the heat and rainstorms has accelerated things rapidly.
Boule de Neige is now in full flush. Charles Louis - I hope not all of its flowers have this proliferation. Yolande d'Aragon is nearly out. Indigo. Rose de Rescht - mine also has resinous bristles. I find most of my Portland/ damask perpetuals do, in fact. Sidonie. Amande Paternotte - it has turned into a 5ft by 5ft large monster with no sign it will stop expanding soon. Jacques Cartier. Blush noisette. Rose de Roi. Reine de Violettes has scorched blooms. Miranda also opened this weekend, but the blooms have immediately spoiled and look too sad to even take a photo.
My Bouquet de Mariee is also out @WAMS . Trevor White says it is more of a Portland than noisette or hybrid perpetual, but the foliage and clusters of flowers seem much more noisette to me. It has a strong damask-like fragrance like a Portland, but that is also consistent with it being a hybrid perpetual.
