I currently have co clue what’s going on in my garden although I imagine I’ve got a weeks worth of deadheading to catch up on!
My school musical production has just finished though, three performances - they went really well, so much better than I thought it would be - all came together on the night. Very proud of the children. Was a lot of fun but that was taking up every bit of spare time I had. So it will be nice to hopefully have a bit of a breather and a chance to step outside!
Must water the pots this morning, I’ve neglected them this week and I noticed my geranium rozanne was starting to wilt yesterday.
Staying with a friend... shes got a lovely big climber that was here when she moved in Ive suddenly realised might be Handel (the rose that got me hooked!) @Marlorena what do you recon? Its been here a long time we think and that rose is from the 60s, so planted in 70s /80s fits. Scented too. She says its pinker than usual its usually more obviously 2tone which is probably the heat.
@agnasia I wanted to thank you for the info about Emily Brontë being grown as a climber at their Albrighton HQ. I started training it on canes at 45 deg angles and was pleased to see these shoots forming last week.
@JessicaS, love your pansy-munching pooches. I imagine life is not particularly quiet with them around. It was Fragrant Plum from RV Roger in my picture. Funny, I have been eyeing up Moody Blue...
@Pam285 that's magnificent! You must be so thrilled with that.
I’m pleased with my Yolande d’Aragón so far @Discandied, the fragrance seems to be living up to it’s reputation and repeat has been respectable for a rose with questionable repeat. How are you finding it? Yours is a deeper colour than mine, but paler blooms are the norm here.
Some yellows and apricots in the west garden, collectively known as my ‘softies’..

My Yolande had a small first flush @Nollie, but has continued to put out a small number of buds continuously since, so the rebloom seems good so far. It is still a small plant so I imagine will have a bigger first flush next year. The flowers are large and well-formed, and I have also found its fragrance lives up to expectations.
Just returned today from hols in Devon. It's had a downpour today but I had to take these pics when I got home. Double Delight, my fave Sommèrgold, climber planted last year in a shady spot and just started to flower. Oranges and lemons Golden Beauty
