Bathsheba Nice leafy sepals on another Bathsheba bud
Blackspot central out there. Not surprising really with all this rain. Mary Delaney and Royal Jubilee are completely defoliated on one side. Lady of Shalott too.
I'm not fussy about it, just noticed it this morning.
Thanks @newbie77 I have Bring me sunshine and Golden Celebration. I love GC despite the octopussy canes. A good bloomer for me. BMS will stay for now as I like the blooms but the scent is not consistent.
'Iceberg'..some blackspot, but not enough to bother me.. I'm quite pleased with the quality of this photo, taken with my new Samsung galaxy A14..whatever..
My climbing Iceberg which I inherited when we moved here is in its second flush.
This must be such a tough rose, it’s never been watered or fed as I’m not sure where it’s planted and it’s very difficult to trace it back as it’s growing through a leylandii hedge. When the first flush was over I couldn’t reach up to deadhead it properly so I perched on a stool and haphazardly chopped at it with with some shears! But it’s come through yet again!!
The more pampered Eustacia Vye with You’re Beautiful in the background.
You’re Beautiful with the everlasting blooms.

My new shrub rose Ballerina which has only been in the ground a couple of months.
@Lizzie27 How coincidental, I have a Canon too.. yes I do like this mobile phone, but it takes getting used to, so I'm busy sorting things out and removing what I don't want. I have several camera settings, so it's quite fun to use. Seeing the pictures on my mobile are much better than what I see on my laptop..
@Jess91 The Prince has made me tear my hair out most seasons I've had it. I received a pitiful specimen but it turns out that is fairly normal. For a couple of years the stems were spindly and brittle. Now that is no longer the case and the shrub looks strong and balanced it can be badly affected by mildew, the buds bullnose and the blooms crisp in heat. In June I gave up with the first flush and pruned and defoliated severely. It is now looking good with lots of buds. I find the scent good though MW is stronger, it is a much taller shrub than MW and only blooms on top though some stems will hang down. The following from the garden rather than my usual pots The Lark Ascending , always blooming MainauduftEngland's Rose, Forever Royal are the foreground rosesBathsheba and Royal WilliamWollerton Old HallBlackberry NipSusan W-E, MountbattenSuper Excelsa standard, a new bareroot this year
Thanks everyone for your views and opinions on your GdFs.
The arch we are planning is to be put at the back of a border, so no one will be walking through it - a bit like you have @ElbFee. So prickles and thick stems are no problem - what is a rose without a thorn?, bit like a beautiful cat, you need to remember there are claws. It will also get plenty light as it will be South facing.
The arch is only really there for some support and then I'd like it to do its own thing - so weeping slightly is perfect and stiff canes are OK. I was going to treat it as a rambler and not a climber - but thanks for the heads up @Imprevu
Mind made up now on getting her. I placed an order with a certain Dutch supplier and included the naughty roses - their reply was yes and gave a dispatch date in late October. So there wasn't a "No" to the naughties. Fingers crossed and I'll keep you informed on progress and outcome.
all in €54 incl. shipping for 4 roses, so a goodly saving.
