Fabulous seedling PP.. you're very own rose...  good to see Lilac Bouquet on your arch too, I wasn't sure how tall it would get..  In the U.S. it's called 'Rise Up Lilac Days'..

thanks @ElbFee I have considered Blue for you after seeing some fabulous pics in this forum.. somehow the open shape and washed up centre was not to my liking..  will see how HCS does this year... I hope it has more petals than BFY..

wow Pittter-Patter.. can you predict the colour of the seedling from its parents? will be fascinating to see if it will resemble the parent or not..

@cooldoc It’s a seedling from peach melba, so very likely pink. There’s a reddish tinge to the stem, but I’m not sure that says much.

I’m sure my Golden Celebration will recover with all you guys willing it on, not worried about the foliage dying but the instant yellowing and dieback of the canes is more of a concern. Oh well, if it doesn’t pull through, I’ll just get a new one!

@Alfie sawfly larvae are my worst enemies 😡 I have the usual rose sawfly you get in the UK plus two further types with repeat reproduction lifecycles throughout the summer. I do as much squishing as I can but they proliferate faster than I can squish!

@cooldoc, yes I have installed Mme. Isaac Pereire on the east side of the trellis and Thomas à Becket and Blush Noisette on the west side. I was going to wait until the soil level settled a bit more, but both MIP and BN were busting out of their pots so needed in.

If I was choosing a pink climbing rose from scratch I wouldn’t necessarily have chosen MIP, but I’m trying to create space for some of the orphans in my pot ghetto that I feel need a chance to show what they can do in the ground.
