My favourite DA. "Tis the fairy Lady of Shalott." Unfortunately afflicted with blackspot this year (defoliating and am going to try that polenta) but she is nonetheless smothered in beautiful buds and for some reason her tea fragrance seems stronger this year (it will be season three I think).
Edited to add: how did I not notice this self-sown sweet pea growing up through Amazing Day till just now?!
As many of you seem to be having, I've got a lot more blackspot this year then I have previously but it'll be all the soggy.
@marlorena You should get one, I only ordered the cheapest I could find online. But wanted one of the ones you could disassemble into separate levels. Rather than one prestocked with bamboo that you'd have to refresh or wood drilled with holes that would eventually need replacing.
@Mr. Vine Eye I'll watch yours Mr Vine.. I have no skills at putting anything together.. so it'll be fun to follow progress.. what is that putty stuffing the holes please?..
@cooldoc Yes I just snip off spent flowers through the season, it produces more.. I might get the white version this week..
..lovely big blooms on your roses @Athelas Some of them are producing huge blooms this Spring I've noticed.. 'Lady of Shalott' in particular..
..and I've just taken a zillion photos and don't like any of them..
welcome to the club Marlorena.. I keep doing the same.. click click and then delete.. atleast we can delete easily.. my neighbours must be thinking I am crazy
Natalija.. need to go again and smell it.. can't quite place it or I forgot how it smelled once I finished sniffing all other.. felt the colour was a bit more darker than it appears here..
Julio Iglesias.. a freebie from TCL.. it was supposed to be a replacement for my Scentimental and then I changed my mind and got another.. they sent me anyways.. but I am loving the fragrance on its first bloom... it is INTENSE.....
Bring me Sunshine.. hiding away from sunshine here.. strong Myrrh scent..
oh wow your BMS has beaten mine @cooldoc .. might be tomorrow.. I don't mind a stripey, so I'm waiting to see that 'Julio Iglesias' from you.. not one I've seen before I think..
..colour variations on 'Lady of Shalott'.. 'Cornelia'.. 'Eustacia Vye'.. a rose I'm falling out of love with, unfortunately.. ..a tantalising first glimpse of ''Sophie's Perpetual''.. a rose that's promising a LOT..
Lovely photos, everyone. The time of the year that we've all been looking forward to. I was wondering if any of you can help me identify this. I have plenty of them munching my blooms away.
I've just seen Ronnie O'Sullivan at the garden center. I think he was eyeing up a plant.

It was busy with activity just now
I agree about GJ, fabulous rose. Doesn’t repeat as well as some, but I really hope they don’t bump her off.
