Pancakes at the Donkey Sanctuary this morning, then a walk by the seafront. Spent two hours in the garden this afternoon, hacked down a couple of self seeded laurel bushes that have blocked one of the paths, plus pulled up a huge patch of brambles. Being careful at the moment, no heavy lifting in the hope that my insides will stay in where they are supposed to be. I didn’t bother shredding the cuttings, just chopped them into smaller pieces and stuffed them into the green bins for tomorrow.  Feeling very pleased with myself, for the last green bin collection, I hadn’t had the energy to do any gardening so they were left empty.
Just watching our local crow family, currently numbering five, searching the grass under the bird feeders for any spillage. Looks like the youngsters stay with their parents for quite a while, I’m sure two of them are last years babies, but one I suspect is from the year before.
Good to hear that your son / brother is being well looked after, Dove and Wonky. Hope OH gets his hip done as planned, Busy-Lizzie, and hope everyone else is recovering well. Ski resort looks lovely, Damsel. Especially glad to hear from Punkdoc and Hostafan, take it easy, guys.

    Good early evening to everyone!!

Day's nearly done and I have lit the fire as I turned off the central heating some time ago when the temperatures started to get warmer.

Early start, so to the nursery this morning to buy 50 red salad onion plugs and 50 white salad onion plugs and some "rougette" lettuces.  Back home to dig over the spot for planting and although I wore a lumbar belt, my back is tired and my right hip is singing!!  But everybody is in bed and tomorrow rain is forecast, that is why I decided to plant the onion plugs.  I was very good and didn't over buy especially as the nursery was selling lots of vegetable seedlings.  Lots of different tomato plants but they are bound for glasshouses.  Far too early even down here!!

@D0rdogne_Damsel  The weather in the Alps looks lovely, hope it stays that way for you.  Are you in the Three Alps?  I used to go to Meribel Mottaret in the day - given that away now.

No pancakes for me tonight - can't be blowed on my own but a nice spaghetti puttanesca is on the cards.  And a glass of red of course!! (Vin ordinaire).  A toast to @punkdoc

@floralies   I doubt whether you will be doing Swiss Ball after a hip operation.  It's an oversize ball that you sit on and balance whilst doing exercises.  If you fall off it, I think you will pop your hip out.  Let me know.
@Dovefromabove   Now for some bureaucracy.  I hope you are wearing your Patience Pinny!!
You're right @AuntyRach  the body has been in hibernation and it's easy to get over excited about summer vegetables.  I will chill out tomorrow and take it easy like @coccinella  !!

Enjoy your evening everyone.  Tomorrow is another day.

Afternoon all, My, you have all been busy!

A chillier start today and a bit drizzly but then warmed up with some sunshine after lunch. I went for a much needed back and shoulder massage - two hours early by mistake, oops. I had gone by bus so not that easy to do a return trip. Instead I treated myself to a latte and coconut/chocolate slice in a local cafe and my beautician kindly fitted me in earlier.
I went by bus because the local shopping area has been the subject of a Low Traffic Density order, with mainly Residents parking and I wasn't sure if it was going to be difficult to park. Actually there were loads of parking, with dual Permits Only/1, 2 or 3 hour slots so that will make visiting much easier. It was always rammed before with the hospital staff parking all day. It does of course mean that the parking problem just moves even further out to another area.

I've took it easy for the rest of the day as she worked hard on my right shoulder, I might well be aching tomorrow!

Hope everybody's had a good day.

    Evening.

Frog spawn in the pond today !!! Always pleased to see that. It’s on the early side this year, but I’ll have to dig out photos from previous years to confirm.

Just had some pancakes, which were excellent. I expect we’ll do some more on the weekend when niece is here.

    Take care all.

🐸 Just looked at last few year’s frog spawn dates:
last year I first spotted it on 27th Feb (so could have arrived a day or two earlier), and the 2 years before that were 23rd and 25th.

Evening all. Glad to hear that all those with aches and pains, or recovering from ops, are taking things as easy as possible, look after yourselves folks. Pleased that you are also feeling a bit better PatE and that you get some much needed rain soon.
Daughter ran me down to see my lovely young lady Doc on Friday lots of poking and prodding and "humm" she said (at least she didn't say "well you are getting older!". Another blood test ordered (had one a week ago, why cant they do them all at once, not sure I like them to keep pinching my blood!). Off down again today for the 2nd test but will now have to wait until Thursday week to see Doc again as she's off skiing this week - she will probably pass you en route DD.
Glad that they are pleased with your son's progress Dove after his treatments today. Good luck with the bank and any other legal matters you are having to deal with for him. Have they said what caused the accident in the first place yet.
Fingers crossed all goes well for OH on Thursday Busy.

Morning all. I’ve just opened the windows on the veranda and sat down. Now I can see a misty view on our hills, so I guess I’ll be shutting them again before long. Sigh. 🙄Temp out there is 24.6, inside 19.3.  I’m impressed with the gadget that tells me these things.

Im glad your son seems to be improving Dove. Fingers crossed.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Glad the physio is helping @Pat E … thought you’d might like to have a look at this https://cloudappreciationsociety.org/. 😊

The thought is that the explosion was a bottled gas leak caused by the very low temperatures damaging the pipe work to the little boiler that heated the water.  Everything was destroyed in the fire and then, believe it or not, some scrappies broke into the site overnight and took the remains of the caravans (a lot of valuable aluminium apparently) … the police are investigating the theft but of course there’s no way of investigating the cause of the fire/explosion now … all we have are the reports of the other people on the site, some of whom have also lost their homes.
