Sending you hugs @Dovefromabove, hope you are relaxing or better still, fast asleep in bed by now. I do understand the position re visitors in ICU as possible infection is so important under those circumstances. It is a shame that you misunderstood it in the first but perhaps it was good that your EX didn't get to visit after all his travels. Hopefully it will not be too long before he and Wonky will be able to be added to the visitors list.

It sounds as though we have a couple of generators running out in our garden at the moment - the frogs are 'at it' in our pond! Frogspawn is appearing by the bucketful. Noisy little devils!  :D

Hello Forkers. Thinking of Dove’s son and hoping for improvement. Hard times indeed.

Another hot day here, so we are inside again. We had to weaken and turn the air con on for a while yesterday. Trying not to waste electricity, but needs must.

I’ve been blaming birds for nicking my blueberries, but this morning I found the real culprit. (sorry about the fly screen).

One of the Cunningham’s skinks has found a way to strip all fruit including the little green ones. 🙄. At least we’ve had a good lot of fruit so far this summer, so I suppose it’s only fair to share. 🤭

    Good morning all.

Amsterdam was lovely as ever and the Vermeer exhibition too. Even OH who usually doesn't go for "art" thought that it was great. A bit crowded as to be expected but very spaced out so you can go back to a picture if earlier there were too many people in front of it. The view of Delft is truly special, was he crying when he painted it? It has an intrinsic shininess that is unique. The Flixbus is always a bit meh but it is SO cheap and my back isn't too bad, considering. The kids, well ... there is always something.

I am glad that you saw your son @Dovefromabove, I hope you look after yourself, the next weeks will require a lot from you. It must be distressing for @WonkyWomble not to be able to come in with you and I am sorry about it. At the end of the day the hospital has to look after the patient and in a burns unit you can't mess up with a continuous influx of people and their germs. I am glad that your ex has also accepted it. Keep strong, there will be up and downs like yesterday's, you have a supporting family around you, to keep each other up. He will get better.

@tui34 shall I come for lunch? May I bring OH? I can smell that pot from here, I wonder if Flixbus gets near you 😋

Slept quite well and now the sun’s coming out … I had a chat with Wonky just now and she said the sun was on its way ☀️
Glad you enjoyed the Vermeer @coccinella 😎 it certainly looks a good one.
Have a good day folks. 😊

    Hi all

Sunny and still blowy here. I have been sitting outside listening to the birds, sounds very Spring like.

    Good morning all,
That is good news @Dovefromabove. 😊
It’s bright, sunny and breezy here today. A good drying day! It is spring like, isn’t it, though that chill is still about.
Not sure what our plans are today yet, but fairly relaxed, I imagine. I might do a little tidying around in the garden, and I should scrub out the bird baths.

    Morning all.

I'm taking OH out for lunch today for his birthday, but his birthday is on Saturday and he will probably be in hospital, hopefully having had his hip replacement on Thursday. The restaurant is quite small and discreet with lovely food. OH is keeping away from places with lots of people, doesn't want to catch anything.

Glad you enjoyed the Vermeer @coccinella.

Gave the kitchen/cooker a thorough clean yesterday but bent back a fingernail that was a little bit split in the process and it is throbbing a bit today.  Hope it settles down by tomorrow when, after some admin I need to do is done today, I can get out in the garden.  Sun is forecast!

Hope the nurses remain happy with your son Dove. x

Afternoon all from sunny South Wales ☀️

@Dovefromabove and @WonkyWomble, the nurses are right about good days and bad days. You are wise to see this as a journey that will have ups and downs. Once you prepare yourself that things don’t always go 100% each day, then positive news is often even better.

Cheers to anyone having some outside time today. It’s like a magic tonic.
