    Afternoon all.

It's finally Friday. I had a very busy week, and weather didn't helped at all. Today is much better, but still with high wind. LB was on the right track about snowed in. Last Wednesday was extremely high wind and I decided not to go to collect my potatoes and onions. Later that afternoon weather settled down, so I went. It was all right, the road was clean, but on the way back blizzard started. I managed to come home, but it was quite difficult.
I spent some time in the garden today, so it's time for dinner and read back. My apologize for not be around last few days.

I’ve learned something new today as well, @Songbird-2 - I didn’t know that “Ruby” referred to curry. Every day is a school day, as they say 😂.

Good to see you Ante, especially as your weather has been so horrid. I was very shocked when I saw the pictures of Majorca all covered in snow and I believe that Barcelona has had some snow too. Weather patterns are crazy at the moment and our forecast for next week is very bad too.
Hazel and Red maple, I am pleased to have extended your knowledge today!

I didn't know that "Ruby" meant curry either. I don't like it hot, Korma is my favourite. OH likes it hotter but I put chilli sauce on the table for him.

I went out for a short walk but it made my eyes run because of the cold.

Have spent a while chatting on the phone today. People keep ringing to ask after OH.

  • This Friday has come round so speedily.  I’ve put the bin out as last weeks collection was missed.  LB good idea with the skip beware that neighbours may spot it and want to fill it themselves.  I’m changed for bed and have my feet up.  Wishing everyone a good evening.

    Evening all,

The ruby went down well and was officially rated, "as good as the last one", which in turn was, "best you've made" :D I range from ordering biryani to madras when eating out (depending how brave I'm feeling) @Ladybird4 but I have to cater to the delicate tastes of my clientele when making my own! It was a sweet potato and carrot jalfrezi with all the trimmings tonight. Should keep me in the good books for about 10 minutes ;)

Ante, that blizzard reminds me of the time OH and I came home early one Easter, from The Lake District, as it had started snowing heavily. We wanted to get back home quick. We got stuck over The Pennines  during a blizzard, total white out, couldn't see a dot in front of your eyes. A lovely farmer took pity on us and let us stay in his farmhouse overnight. The following morning, we drove over the remaining Moors, to find absolutely nothing, no snow, at the other end. Doh....😬 Hope your weather settles down soon, horrible. But we may be joining you next week. Down The North East Coast, where we are, we have snow forecast....great....
Goodnight all. Full of aches and pains tonight.

@Biglad your curry sounds delicious. I have made vegetable curries before but not used sweet potatoes as yet. I think the reason I am so fond of curries is that it was always our traditional lunch most Sundays. Dad had been stationed in India during the war and learned to make curries whilst there. I think I may have mentioned this before. With our big family I suspect it was a cheaper option than a roast meal. None of us minded though.
