    Morning all,

Unfortunately, not @Ladybird4 - had a look at the small selection but nothing jumped into my trolley :o

At least the coupons/vouchers/discounts all worked! I was aiming for the £70 minimum spend but thought I had £75-£80 by the time I was done. My mental maths got interrupted by having to ask for the whereabouts of the poppadums/poppadoms (?) for tonight's ruby! Obviously, they were at ankle level so no chance of me clocking them :D

Another spot of Civic Pride work this morning. Weather might be ok for an afternoon shift in the garden after that :)

Morning all. LB, our son regularly hires a skip to get rid of stuff all in one go. He loves getting rid of things. His washer broke yesterday so he put it at the front of his property for the scrap man. When he returned from getting a new appliance, the old machine had disappeared. Great, saves clogging up the end of the drive. lol!

Hi folks,  Sorry to hear your Dad is having a rough time Rubee.
So fed up of being cold at the moment I just can't wait for things to warm up a bit.  Too cold for me to get in the garden but most of the winter clean up has been done.  Just some of the climbing roses to prune and if they don't get done it wont be the end of the world.
Popped out this morning to pick up a couple of things from the local co-op and spent quite a bit of time in Boots  to get Gabriel's prescription filled.  He has to have a powder for his asthma every evening and Secondborn has been having a problem getting hold of it.  They hadn't got it at Boots but when I explained that it was for a 4 year old asthmatic who would probably end up in hospital if he didn't get it she redoubled her efforts and, after a few phone calls, managed to get hold of some and said I could pick it up tomorrow.
Would love to hire a skip @Ladybird4 but would need a couple of strong chaps to come with it to sort out our cellar
Off for a Ruby myself tomorrow evening.  Secondborn has invited us out as a thank you for helping her with Jonah and Gabriel.  Bless her, I know she would like to do more but not in a position financially to do it at the moment.  It's the cost of the fuel to manage the 50 mile round trips that cause us a problem.  Never a problem to look after the boys. <3
    Stay warm and safe everyone.

    Morning all.

Cold and grey here. The front garden brick path needs weeding and edging but I'm waiting for it to warm up. Knee has been playing up so not looking forward to kneeling on it.

Hazel, don't they take away your old washing machine when they deliver your new one in the UK? I wouldn't have been strong enough to move mine. The delivery men in France took it for recycling.

I hate throwing things away. I had to throw away loads of stuff when I downsized in France. My children took quite a bit but I still filled a 20 cubic metre skip.

Busy, not my washer, my sons. He's a strapping lad who just lifted it himself and carried it out to the front of the house  We get our old one taken away when we need a new one but son sorts it out himself.

Good afternoon all. Hazel, I am like you in that I just love going to the tip to get rid of stuff - very cathartic! Its the bigger stuff I will welcome the skip for.
Busy, I am so impressed with your skip! Just be careful not to aggravate your knee problem.
Biglad, I would have been so useful finding the ankle level items - and retrieving them for you! I love a ruby too (Ante - brief explanation for you. Ruby Murray is Cockney rhyming slang for a curry! Ruby Murray was an ancient - i.e. before your time - singer!)
One caveat there though @Biglad, the ruby has to be hot. Not one of these wishy washy ones like korma, makhani or bhuna etc. They do have their place and are delicious but I prefer them fiery.
Good to see you Yvie. How nice to be treated to your meal as a 'thank you' when you were really doing something you love to do. I have heard disturbing reports from Jack about some of his vital medicines being in short supply and his daughter is having to travel quite far distances to find some for him. I know he gets quite worried.
I bet our Hazel is going to have a wonderful evening with 23. So exciting to have him visit for tea.

Thanks for the explanation LB! I didn't know that either!

Just had a mad tea with 23, a quick three times hiding the little Cadbury's eggs in a basket, a bit of colouring in , so much laughing and making a noise and , whosh! He's gone, mad but lovely 👍😊 ( just a quick visit but very much enjoyed. Sleepover already arranged now for over the Easter Holidays👏).
