It’s the triumph of hope over adversity @Pat E šŸ˜‚Ā
Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļø … I went to bed really early and slept like a log … I must’ve been sound asleep when OH came to bed … now I’m awake and he’s sound asleep 😓

    Hi all

Hoping the dry, sunny forecast materialises, as I am so far behind with my winter work.

    Good Morning Forkers.Ā
There are 12 degrees outside, what is happening? I suppose it is warm enough for some light work in the garden if it stays dry. I didĀ  not sleep well as per usual but I think watching high tense drama just before going to bed made it worse. My own silly fault.Ā

So apart from having to make a couple of yucky calls to hospital to extract appointments I am determined to have a good day. Here's hoping.

    take care all

It’s been so hot here today that we’ve had the fan going in the living roomĀ all day. Ā lots of sweat being wiped from brows and top lips. At least it’s a bit cooler now at 7.25pm

    Good morning Forkers,
well, it looks a much brighter day today with lovely blue sky. Feels cooler, too.
Had a nice lie in and now just enjoying a cuppa before I see how the rest of this day unfolds.

Gosh @Pat E - we have a few cold months before we get to being as hot and sticky as you are now!Ā Ā
Sounds like you have more to be positive about for this year @Penny_Forthem - hope your OH's resolutions don't lead to domestics!
You are an inspiration @Busy-Lizzie with all the hard work you have put into the garden and the fortitude with which you meet the setbacks your poor OH has to endure.Ā  Safe journey.
Despite wishing to simply stay in and watch tv last night we did go out to the cheese & wine do hosted by a local couple (quite elderly now but one of the mainstays of the local community and perfect hosts).Ā  And of course glad that we did - it was nice to mingle and make small talk and strengthen those community bonds.Ā  We met a very nice lady, one of our hosts' oldest friends who lives near Southwold and, as we got on so well with her (she's a little bit wicked!) she and we agreed to meet again, so we have made a new friend.

    Good day to you all!

Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver, the other is gold. Ā @didyw

Warm here too at 15°C.  Overcast with a marine breeze coming in off the sea from Africa!

Weeding and clipping are on the cards for the next few days. Ā The ground is damp enough to pull the weeds out easily. Ā The salvia and other bushes are starting to send out shoots, so the dead tops will be lopped.

    Enjoy your day everyone.

OH is back to work tomorrow so we've taken all the decorations down and they're boxed up and put away until next Christmas.Ā  They are pretty but it's nice to have less 'clutter' around the place.Ā Ā
We've actually got some blue sky and sunshine ... the gulls are wheeling and screaming as someone's put some food out ... it could almost be the seaside ... just need some ice-cream šŸ¦
