My levels have been stable for some years now so the check up will probably just confirm that.
Bathroom cleaned, bedlinen changed, washed and hung on the racks, downstairs floors done with waxy mop, lunch made and eaten, and I've given my nails a bit of a smarten up. I think that's enough for today.
My appointment isn't until 5.20 ... I'll leave home about 4.40ish ... it's only ten minutes up the road usually, but you never can tell with rush hour ... the medical practice has it's own underground car park so no worries about parking.

Hi everyone. Missed a couple of days of news for various reasons. Anyway, the weather here is horrible, rain and more rain. A friend of mine from Italy sent me a message this afternoon saying "it's been raining since yesterday evening" to which I answered that here it has been raining since November! Best luck with the blood test @Dovefromabove and all the best with you too @Pat E, this thyroid business is very boring indeed. I am going to see the GP tomorrow afternoon with results in hand. Will he take on the responsibility from the endocrinologist who is not and will not see me before February. Watch this space.
Afternoon all - it hasn't rained today!! We even had some sunshine but it was a bit chilly. Had a really rotten night which is unusual for me. Went into town to pick up new specs and have a wander round the shops. Very tiring. I tried to find a new trivet for the kitchen, had to visit 3 shops before I found one the right size which I thought was a bit odd - are they going out of fashion as well?
Keeping fingers crossed that DIL's train is (a) running and (b) is on time tonight. An added complication for the pick up is that the road we would normally use is shut overnight, so annoying.
Back from seeing the Practice Nurse who said that I'm a good clotter 👍.
I can check online for my results in 2/3 days but if there’s a problem they’ll be in touch anyway.
Before we left there’d been an ambulance at the house up on the corner but it was gone when we arrived home and there’s no lights on in the house. The lady there was widowed in the first lockdown … she’s 89 and quite active .., only just recently having stopped driving … I’m pretty sure I saw her walking down to the post box this morning; I s’pose it could’ve been yesterday. NDN was keeping an eye on developments … she said she’ll let us know if neighbours need to offer help.

Hope the results are ok @Dovefromabove and that your neighbour is ok. Always a worry at that age. A few days ago, we had both an ambulance and police car with blue lights and horns dashing along our lane early morning ish which is most unusual for this area. Wondered if it had been a farm accident along the lane but haven't heard anything on the grapevine - fingers crossed.
DIL has just texted that she's safely on the train from Southampton and I'll pick her up at Bath. Our station (a Brunel one) is unusual as it has two exits, front and back, causes no end of confusion. The railway/council stopped pick ups from along the frontage which are now reserved for taxis and bicycles. It makes life more difficult to meet and greet.
DIL is very relieved, her consultant phoned her out of the blue last week to tell her he thought the wrist cast could come off and would she like to pop in the following day. She did, in her lunchtime, they took the cast off and gave her a splint to wear. In and out in under half an hour. Very efficient!
I popped round to see NDN, the one who fell, this morning. She showed me her emergency button around her neck that she is now wearing. I'm glad because our phones have been playing up. Her path to the kitchen door was very overgrown with a huge bramble so I cleared it all. Have to admit that a lot of the honeysuckle was ours, escaping through the fence.
Cold and rainy yesterday, but the sun is shining for now. Maybe a tour with the secateurs today. Add more fuel to my fire!!
I hope your results are good @Pat E Good luck! You may just have to do some "tough love" with your OH and his hip operation @Busy-Lizzie For yourself as well as him. You seem to be maintaining two homes and driving back and forth.
I hope you all have a pleasant day. Beau temps à la Saint-Guillaume Donne plus de blé que de chaume Tui
