    Morning all,
a keen frost here too today, but it’s preferable to the gloomy, grey days we’ve had recently.
Sounds as if that couple are not to be trusted, @D0rdogne_Damsel. It will be lovely for you to have Charlie and his friends home for a few days.
Not much planned for today, other than a quick trip into the local town for some odds and ends.Ā
    Take care everyone.

Sounds as if you're in for a fun time @D0rdogne_Damsel :o:disappointed:

OH has gone to work ... I've filled the bird feeders ... there seems to be lots of small bird activity and chirruping this morningĀ  ... I think the (slightly) longer day length has turned their thoughts toĀ  !!!Ā  despite the cold weather ... the Gt tits and Blue tits are definitely 'paired up and I've just watched a real barney between a yellow-beaked UK male blackbird and a black-beaked European migrant ... the local one is definitely showing whose territory this garden is ... a few weeks ago they were all happily feeding together as one flock.Ā Ā

Bread is in the oven ... now it's time for coffee and Pop Master ......

Did I say foggy and calm, this morning? Ā Ā

There is now a 100kmph wind swooping down off the Cevennes and a fine blue sky with powder puff clouds. Ā  @D0rdogne_Damsel Ā  Ā I think your wind has blown itself down here!!

Morning folks, a very heavy frost this morning, only -4.7c at 8 am, and still under freezing now. I cancelled my massage and OH despite my protests decided to walk down to the village for the paper. Thankfully he got back safely and said he'd enjoyed it! Our NDN has very kindly thrown sand/salt over the frozen large puddle at the bottom of our drives.

Just read about the awful accident near Hinkley Point early this morning, a double decker bus carrying 70 workers has overturned on an icy road, no further details at the moment but that doesn't sound good.

@D0rdogne_Damsel, that will be fun - and very noisy! Lots of very filling food will be required I should imagine.

A lucky escape @steephill, I don't drive at all in ice or snow but I once gave OH a skid pan experience which he said was good fun. He and his brothers used to rally drive which he loved doing.

So an indoor day today, just got a bit of clearing away in the kitchen to do prior to boiler man arriving tomorrow, will have to get up early methinks.

Keep warm and stay safe everybody.

There are going to be lot of very upset Radio 2 listeners today @Dovefromabove!

Had a bad night last night - just couldn't get to sleep. Came down to make a chamomile tea - and noted that is was 4.30am!Ā  It helped though, but only after a bit more reading.Ā  But - it means I should sleep better tonight.

Got a meeting this afternoon - hope I can stay awake during it.

  • Good afternoon,Ā  still icy here even though the thermometer says it's +2 . Went to the plots and wheeled some more of the manure. IĀ  think one more session should be enough now, I have been taking it very steadily.Ā  With the frozen ground it was actually easier thanĀ  previously.Ā  IĀ  will spread it later when it's thawed out again.Ā

@Lizzie27, I saw about the overturned bus on the news, no one died.

The frost is still white on the lawn. The outside thermometer has broken so I don't know how cold it is. Phone said -5C this morning and 1C now.

I want to do ironing in front of the Pottery Throw Down, but OH is asleep on the sofa.

I'm so shocked. Just been told a friend of ours who lives nearby died last Saturday. Apparently she had been ill for some time with a chronic lung disease but had kept the diagnosis strictly private. We had thought she wasn't well the last time we all went out to dinner. I had known her for about 30 years.
