We've been out for lunch in a pub with friends - very pleasant. We also stopped off at a nursery to stock up on bark mulch which I will spread once the soil has defrosted, it's absolutely solid at the moment.
I'd spread it now whilst the ground is hard. Once it thaws, you run the risk of squashing the air out by walking on it.Ā

Evening everyone, and special wave to @Hostafan1.Ā

Been on Aunty duties this afternoon - we did some decoupage craft and painting (crumbs I am rubbish at drawing!). So much washing up seems to have been created from one meal and a couple of snacks! What is that all about?!

Feels really cold this weekend and we have that freezing fog tonight. Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks.Ā

@Hostafan1, it's only for a couple of flower beds and some paths round the veg beds, nothing I need walk on.

Are your hostas in the polytunnel surviving this freezing weather?

I'm sure the hostas are fine, but this was NOT the year to leave the evergreen agapanthus outdoors. Too late to move them now.Ā
AeoniumsĀ  and colocasia in the tunnel have suffered too , but echeveria are fine so far

I left mine outdoors as well, looking very sick now. Fortunately I split mine earlier inĀ  the year and the smaller ones are in the greenhouse.

When I lived in Hants, they were always outdoors , as I didn't have anywhere else to keep them. They always came back

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
Nasty freezing fog out there … glad that didn’t arrive until after we got home last night.Ā Today should be an indoor day if at all possible … stayĀ safe folks.Ā

Hello everyone. Back to grey and light snow, I need to fill the fridge but don't fancy going out at all. Supermarkets here don't deliver, one had started but stopped after a year or so. The only company that does it is expensive.Ā

Today we will go out for lunch with friends, but luckily we can use public transport.

    Keep warm and safe.
