Hurrah x100 @punkdoc … just as I thought (although you never can tell). He only did it to wind you up.Ā

    Evening.

Big toast forĀ @punkdoc -brilliant news!Ā

Chilly here! 3 degrees (ā€œfeels like freezingā€) when I got home about 4:30 so the pre-icer and windscreen covers are on the car to (hopefully) save me a few mins scraping ice in the minus tomorrow morning.Ā

    Have a cosy evening all.Ā

Fantastic news @punkdoc - turns out right was on your side!Ā  Can you get the judge to sort the rats out?

  • Fantastic news @punkdoc! What a wicked person that man seems to be, why, oh why, would people behave like that?

I am feeling a little frustrated, nothing too bad in the grand scheme of things, and possibly all irrelevant, but the lady that owns the house I am desperately trying to buy came to see me today about buying some of her furniture etc. I didn't want much, but it turns out the people who have been looking after the house for her (she lives in Holland) have cleared her out of everything that might have been useful to me. I truly believe they have taken advantage of her, she has paid them by the hour (their calculations) already and she said to them if there's anything you'd like, feel free, well they certainly took advantage of that offer. She is a lovely lady, and I would happily have paid good money for the few bits I wanted, but there is nothing left. How can people do that to others?Ā

Anyway, apart from that, so far, considering it's Blue Monday, everything ok here.Ā

Great news @punkdoc. I'm glad for you.

What a shame @D0rdogne_Damsel, but if she told them to feel free to take what they want then I think that was to be expected. Will you have enough furniture? There is a Google Group that people sell stuff on and advertise house content sales when they are moving back to the UK. There has been some lovely furniture, very reasonably priced, also some rubbish.

We had a handsome visitor in the garden this morning.

Oooh … apparently we should expect ā€˜flurries’ shortly. 🫣

  • I know it's a 'grey' area, but they've taken stuff they most certainly intend to sell on, not for personal use. I'm sure that's not what the vendor intended.Ā

Thanks for the lovely comments all.
The ex NDN is without doubt the most unpleasant person I have ever met. I still have a horrible feeling we haven't seen the last of him.

Icy out on the roads tonight, just had a very near miss. I could feel the road was getting very slippy so slowed down and dropped back from the cars in front of me. A couple of them spun and one was trying to reverse back on to the road in front of me. Braked, skidded then with no more braking available aimed for a small gap between them and the verge (and wall) which I slipped through with very little room to spare.
Trousers changed and now I have to go back out to pick up OH. At least I know where all the bad spots are now. Wish me luck!
